I went through security at a government museum yesterday. I had forgotten that I had a multi-tool on my belt, which includes a knife. So I showed it to the “screener”. I think he was a volunteer. An MP for a local base was standing watch with him.
The screener said, “Oh, that’s ok.” So I proceeded through the metal detector with my multi-tool in hand. I could have been armed with anything else and they wouldn’t have cared because they assumed the “beep” of the metal detector was from the multi-tool.
But dear LORD…don’t you dare try to bring a bottle of water through. After all, how do you expect the concessions people to make money selling bottled water for $2.00.
Oh…sorry…point being, the video is funny AND 100% correct.
Hi Maggie,
My name is Mary Brennan and I am a Madam in New Zealand. (Known nationally as Madam Mary) I have been loving your blog for some time now, informative, well written and fabulous.
I know that you understand the New Zealand working model of Decriminalization is leading the way internationally and we are very proud of that. I have become the ‘go to’ person for research, docos, general interviews and comment on the industry.
I was on the parliamentary review board for five years after reform and I am passionate about the industry and the human rights side of it all. I have just released my first book called ‘Some kind of fantasy’ which will be in e-book form in a week or so as well and then kindle.
The book is partly a life story, partly about fetishes I deal with (I am also a Dominatrix) and partly about the industry general – I have used the Domme part to get people to sit up and listen as it is so trendy, hit them with honest open life story stuff to make them realise I am a good person, not damaged or hard and then sneak in some general industry stories.
That is book one anyway. So there is a lot of media interest and I am sending you some links to the things that happened this weekend and there are magazine articles out this week and then next Monday I do 7 more radio interviews – so good coverage here.
But I wondered if you would consider promoting the book – once it is out on e-book as I feel it may help if we can get word out to the rest of the world about the inner workings of the industry here and what is happening and how easy it would be to follow our lead and not the darn Nordic model. Also who knows someone may sit up and listen and I may be able to help out by doing educational stuff over there too. Soooooo much work to be done to make it right!
Anyway here are the links – keep up the amazing work you do.
