Every year on her feast day, I honor St. Mary Magdalene; even though the Church does not officially recognize her as the patron of whores, she certainly is in the public imagination. And that recognition of sacred whoredom is far more important than any official designation by any organization.
I don’t know if it’s hard for you or not– is it— for you to talk so reverently about something so often in popular expression seen as something to be unseen, unexpressed, or unworthy of serious attention. And WOW do you give it serious attention!
Whether it’s hard– it’s got to be hard– it certain is remarkable. And refreshing. And erotic. And fun. And interesting. You are very delightful. And then when you use one of those gorgeous pix of you, as you may have noticed, I get a sudden urge to fly or drive to Seattle. One of these days. Thanks for being you.

Maggie, I love the Magdalene–which Bishop John Shelby Spong states means “the Great” or “the Great One”–the beloved disciple of Jesus of Nazareth. Joy and love to you on this day we both celebrate.
