Given the…lack of viewer response, we weren’t sure the signal was even getting out of the building. – Bob Newhart
Since I liked the last video of a TV superhero performing “Orange Colored Sky” that he sent me, the same gentleman sent me this one. The links above it were provided by Mike Siegel, IncarcerNation, Radley Balko, Anarres Ansible, and Nun Ya, in that order.
- R.I.P. Bob Newhart.
- “Never” really does mean never.
- The Drug War has descended into self-parody.
- “Smart” devices aren’t, part umpteen thousand.
- These “officials” don’t seem to know what Bacchus stood for.

- Parents should keep kids far away from both cops and “youth pastors”.
- Prohibition can never succeed, regardless of the substance prohibited.

- Amazon only likes fascist surveillance schemes it owns and controls.
- Any information you give to cops can and will be used against you.

I find paywalls distasteful, and so many people find this blog valuable as a resource I just can’t bring myself to install one. Furthermore, I find ad delivery services (whose content I have no say over) even more distasteful. But as I’m now semi-retired from sex work, I can’t self-sponsor this blog by myself any longer. So if you value my writing enough that you would pay to see it if it were paywalled, please consider subscribing; there are four different levels to fit all budgets. Or if that doesn’t work for you, please consider showing your generosity with a one-time donation; you can Paypal to maggiemcneill@earthlink.net or else email me at the same address to make other arrangements. Thanks so much!

In the 3rd millennium BCE, the Pleiades were very near the point at which the vernal equinox occurred, which is why the goddesses they represent appear here today. The apparent path of the sun crossed the equator moving northward at 3:06 UTC today, signaling the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern. Enjoy the milder weather to come, and Blessed Be!

Though all things must pass, none are so ephemeral as those good times with good friends that, in retrospect, seem almost magical.
– “Day of the Dead 2022”
“Every single thing in the Cosmos is mortal, and will pass away in its time. [Organisms and empires alike] rise, thrive, decline, and fall, to be replaced by younger ones which then decline and fall in their time…crumbling into dust and passing first into memory, then legend, and eventually beyond the horizon of sentient knowledge.”
