Stand up and act like a lady. – “Officer” James Brooks
I first discovered this song when it was performed by Harley Quinn in an episode of Batman: The Animated Series; those of you who remember it from that show may appreciate seeing the original, and those who are unfamiliar with it may want to watch Harley’s version too. The links above were provided by Franklin Harris, Elizabeth N. Brown, Emma Evans, Amy Alkon, Phoenix Calida, Tim Cushing, and Emma Evans again, in that order.

Speaking of B:TAS, Bruce Timm and Paul Dini used to work for Filmation, and you’d be shocked at how much they hated working there. Not as much as John Kricfalusi, Milton Gray, Eddie Fitzgerald, Kent Butterworth, etc., but still. By the way, what do you think of the other DC Animated Universe shows and movies?
I think this story kind of checks all the boxes of bad.

Thanks for turning me onto that great Virginia O’Brien song. New one on me. I’m not big on old movie musicals. Decades later, Weird Al did a similarly funny song called “You Don’t Love Me Anymore” that was probably inspired by this.
Two thoughts
Regarding the fake Antifa list; why should the Southern Poverty Law Center have all the ‘lets smear people for disagreeing with us’ fun? Oh, sure, clock the Louisiana Staties for this. They deserve it. But if we’re going to go after the purveyers of bullsh*t lists of Lefty Fascism lets also go after the purveyers of bullsh*t losts of Right Wing Racist Hate.
Regarding the Speed Cameras; Americans may not vandalize them as much as other countries, but we take them to court and have their whole programs thrown out a lot more. I regularly read about speed camera traps that have been shut down because the programs violated state traffic laws (about how speed limits are set or how long yellow light must be) or fundamental legal rights. Local governments have been ordered by courts to refund millions of dollars cllected illegally. I don’t read about Europeans or Aussies battling the cameras that way, which strikes me as more effective.
