It’s a damned good thing that I had a decent amount of work and a few lovely visits with friends last week, because the increasing violence of the War on Whores has dumped a huge amount of stress on the entire demimonde. Not even sex workers outside of the US are safe, because Uncle Sam’s megalomania knows no bounds and it seems even the Backpage sites in other countries were seized and taken down last Friday. I’m trying to figure out how to most easily and effectively move this blog to an overseas server, just in case WordPress decides I’m “facilitating prostitution” and takes the site down to protect themselves from the unprecedented censorship of FOSTA. I’ve been warning for years that the US police state was headed into full-scale totalitarianism, and here we are; I can assure you that governments won’t stop with censoring sex. Next will come whatever they can brand “terrorism”, “hate speech” or “fake news”, and we can’t count on any help from ACLU because they’re too busy helping middle-class white men force stupid bigots to cater their wasteful displays of conspicuous consumption. You know that expression, “It’ll get worse before it gets better?” Well, we’re in that “getting worse” part. And I’m sorry, loves, but I have absolutely no idea how long it’ll last.

The USA Sex Guide has temporarily gone dark so the owner can sell the site to a non-US citizen overseas somewhere. Maybe this can serve as a model for blogs, depending on how they do it? Their main page has more detail.
As for “middle class white men,” well, they’re in the crosshairs too. The police in my area regularly conduct stings and seem to take special delight in wrecking the lives of middle class guys. After the arrests, they make sure to plaster all the names of the guys they busted everywhere online, for maximum shaming effect. The comments on the police department’s FB make me want to resign from the human race.
This is the time to support your go-to provider if you have one. I don’t think the middle class will really wake up to this until they start coming for the porn sites — and I bet they’ll do it by claiming the actresses are being “exploited” or something of the sort.
I’m old enough to remember the porn wars and the PMRC. I guess this kind of mindless censorship didn’t die out when the ’80s ended. It got worse, in fact.
It is still the same “authoritarian fuckup v1.0” at work here that has done incredible harm throughout human history. What we are seeing is that the protection mechanisms put in place after the last few fascist catastrophes are not enough. My guess is that in a few hundred years the human race may have learned how to keep these people under control (after a lot more catastrophes), but not anytime sooner.
Just please let us know where you go so I can keep up with your perspectives.
The news and knowledge that you provide for people who do not have the time to search for what is really happening is really invaluable. I can’t wait everyday to see what tidbits of vital information you have discovered. Is there one activist group that you would recommend we align with to fight this fascism???
This is extremely depressing. I’ve backed up my blog already and I haven’t made any more posts. Not that I don’t have anything to say, of course, but… ugh. I’ll probably move it over to Red Umbrella Hosting.
I enjoy your blog a great deal and would like to see you continue.
In our current “”Are you now or have you ever been a Communist/sex worker” environment an overseas server would be prudent. With the passage and signing of FOSTA we’ve reached a point where freedom of expression is more protected in places like Panama than Washington State where you apparently live, although I’m not quite sure why someone would choose to live in a State that offers their citizens perhaps the least Constitution protections in the country.
There is no protection in your State for those who express the political belief decriminalization would be positive. My understanding is that they call that political belief “promoting prostitution” in Washington and it’s a felony.
Hi Maggie- I have been following this latest turn of events with shock, and dismay, so, I signed up for the Red Umbrella project. 10 bucks a month isnt much, but its a start. Don’t let the bastards get you down! Xoxo Brian

Wanted to share that it’s probably IMO implied support that this left wing news broadcast included this.

The problem with the video is he makes it sound like it’s accidental that this law targets ordinary prostitution and makes it sound like there is a real need for the human trafficking hoax to be addressed. Instead it must be show that these people were actually after taking down ordinary adult prostitution from the start and used misdirection by making up a bizarre hoax based on the century old White Slavery myth.
This reminds me of in the 90s how these hippie type stoners were going around arguing that we have to legalize “hemp” so that big agribusiness could make bigger profits by having a superior material to use for paper pulp, ethanol production, vegetable oil, biofuel, etc. Everyone knew that they didn’t give a rats ass about how ADM processed crops, etc. They just wanted to change the law to grease the path to make it easier to get high. A few years later they changed their tactics from “hemp” to “medical marijuana” now Spicoli and the stoner activists were simply motivated by the desire to help grandma get through chemo a little bit easier! This strategy was much more successful and you had half the stoners in hipper type states with prescriptions for “back pain” etc, and “dispensaries” acting almost like the Amsterdam coffee shops. Of course now we see the real fruit of the tree, what the actual goal was all along with several states legalizing recreational marijuana. Not that I am complaining about this, I really hate the petty, churchy “War on Drugs” and am glad these hippies tricked their way into overturning some of the crap the Anslinger pricks rammed down societies throats. But nobody can honestly analyze the tactics of how the movement used misdirection to claim a different motivation to what the actual goal was.
Unfortunately with the puritan, scumbag, lying NGO nutcases federalizing the anti-prostitution Pogram that is at most the realm of local nuisance ordinance, it’s very difficult to get these laws off the books. Look at how these scumbag, jerks forced every state to have these “21” year old drinking laws (these assholes did this when I was 17.) Slick Willy also made them drop the DUI limit nationwide to .08 fucking his own brother Roger over who blew .09 a few months later. While an alcoholic driving around during the day is a public risk, this law has really hurt the bar and restaurant industry making the limit so low that lightweight women can easily blow a DUI after just two Margaritas at the local cantina.
