Does the writer of the “politically correct Jerry Seinfeld” piece even know how arrogant and condescending it is coming across?
doubtful as he is part of the professionally offended class. He is probably completely oblivious to everything except how offended he is by everything
Considering that he’s replying to being infantilized, it seems to me to be a fair return on the serve.
Of course, Anthony probably isn’t the one who’d be complaining about Seinfeld’s jokes. “Go ahead, I won’t hit you” doesn’t carry the same weight when the guy behind you is holding a bat with a nail driven through it.
Sir Christopher Lee; I’ve just re-watched The Wicker Man in the ‘final cut’ version which makes a lot more sense than the original ‘theatrical’ version. It’s similar to the ‘director’s cut’.
A very clever film with a very strange history attached to it; much of its appeal lies in the intelligent script by Anthony Shaffer.
Maggie, thanks again for all your help. Today’s archives are a treasure, especially the second archive link down about the myth of big sporting events bringing about a spike in trafficking. It’s going to help immeasurably this week and next when I speak to different groups about the intent of the county anti-trafficking coalition.
Here is an accurate title for the Jerry Seinfeld piece: “Anthony Berteaux thinks offensive comedy is just fine unless it offends the wrong people.” He approvingly lists comics who are far more offensive than Seinfeld ever was, but he doesn’t think of their targets as “people”.
