…realtime deepfake[s are] created by…fraudsters…[by] digitally manipulat[ing] their appearance in real time to match a photo on a drivers’ license, dating profile, or a celebrity.  Like a chameleon, these scammers, who can be involved in everything from romance scams…to fraudulent tax refunds, can hide their true appearance with just a laptop and phone and produce very realistic results…Yahoo Boys are fraudsters typically based in Nigeria who traditionally used Yahoo emails as part of their scams, but have now broadened to all manner of schemes…It is now very common to see spammy video ads on social media that use a deepfaked version of a celebrity or public figure…But those were pre-rendered, static files…uploaded to YouTube…realtime deepfakes allow a scammer to talk directly to their mark and improvise on video calls or livestreams.  They can appear just as human as the person they are impersonating, potentially fooling not only people but also…automated systems…

Business As Usual

They’re trying to pretend these aren’t typical and representative by calling them “rookies”:

Two [typical and representative] NYPD [cops have finally been] arrested for [armed robbery of] two [sex workers] and [sexual assault of] one of them while [wearing their magical clown costumes]…Justin Colon…and Justin McMillan…[followed typical cop procedure by turning off their] body-worn cameras…so that their [violent crimes] would not be recorded…[prosecutors are already trying to prejudice possible jurors by barfing out the word “]prostitution[” and giving the rapists paid vacation since they committed the crimes]…in July…[they assaulted the first] woman [they encountered], throwing her purse to the ground and stealing a key…[they then] returned eight hours later and used the key to enter an apartment, where they [robbed and sexually assaulted] another woman…both women fled from [the dangerous thugs] after they were robbed…

Stalkers in Blue (#1396)

Cops are sexual predators who often specifically target traumatized women:

A woman who was groomed by a predatory [London cop] has received an apology from the Metropolitan Police after the [other cops] blamed her and spread false information about her mental health instead of investigating him…Phil Hunter…[was sent to her home on a so-called “]welfare visit[” after some busybody called them] in 2017…[but cops ignored her complaints about his stalking her for] seven…year[s until he]…was found guilty of gross misconduct a[nd sacked] in August…[for the same behavior with a different] victim…[the cop-defamed victim] said…”Surely predators are more drawn to vulnerable people with mental health issues than people that can stand up to them, so…surely they would investigate that more, not less, had it been true?  What about other women who’ve come forward who do have a mental health issue of some description and they’ve completely ignored them on that basis?”…

The Last Shall Be First (#1244)

Another disgusting genital inspection law:

…the West Virginia Legislature passed a bill that would allow health care providers to “visually or physically examine a minor”…for the purpose of identifying their “biological sex” without the “consent of the [minor]’s parent, guardian, or custodian.”  The bill, S.B. 456, would define sex based on whether a person produces eggs or sperm…[and limits]  gender-segregated spaces like locker rooms or restrooms…to…a person’s sex…at birth…an amendment…[restricted the “right” to violate a minor against their will to their] “treating health care provider”…[which] was actually an improvement over a previous version of the bill, which…would have allowed teachers to perform the [molest]ations…

In the authoritarian mind,  for students to voluntarily allow other people to examine their genitalia for the purpose of pleasure is a “crime”, but for the same students to be forced by law to allow strangers to examine their genitalia for the purpose of bigotry is “protection”.

Well, you’re going to see what happens to you”…

No Escape (#1488)

The inevitable result of giving aggressive men total power over women:

In women’s prisons, sexual intrusion, harassment, coercion and violence are daily realities.  And in solitary confinement, this conduct is so routine that many women — particularly the younger ones…believe it’s simply an inevitable part of their incarceration…This isn’t just a few rotten apples in one facility.  In 2023, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TCDJ) reported over 700 [incident]s of staff-on-prisoner sexual abuse and harassment to the PREA Ombudsman…Almost 90 of those cases involved sexual harassment, nearly 150 were categorized as voyeurism, and a little more than 500 were classified as sexual abuse…[but] only 20% met the prison system’s onerous criteria for sexual assault or “improper sexual activity with a person in custody”…these stats only scratch the surface…prisons…make the grievance process too painful to be worth it.  Women who make reports can end up being cited for having an “inappropriate relationship” with a guard, which is grounds for being sent to solitary…[which] means no phone calls, and contact visits can also be suspended during investigations, which I’ve seen last 60 to 90 days, or even longer.  In the hole, guards use a variety of methods to retaliate against women who complain about their abuse.  They can write bogus disciplinary infractions that can lead to the loss of visits and phone calls, more time in solitary confinement, and ultimately a longer sentence.  [Screws] can also turn off the electricity and running water in women’s cells and refuse to serve them meals…

Thought Control (#1515)

They realized there would be public outcry if the state actually started arresting librarians, so they’re trying to seem more “reasonable”:

The South Dakota Senate gutted a bill…that would have subjected librarians to criminal prosecution for [working in a library containing any book any politician decided to point at while belching “]obscene material[“]…and replaced that language with a [demand] that [wannabe censors be]…allow[ed to] appeal…[any decision by any librarian in]…court…Supporters of the original version [foamed at the mouth while making barbaric threats.  Pro-censorship politician]…Taffy Howard…[actually called for literally lynching librarians]…

Doctors need to keep suing cops who pretend they have license to practice medicine:

On Aug. 10, 2024, police [abduct]ed a Lorain, Ohio, resident whom the police [fantasiz]ed inserted a baggy containing illegal drugs into their rectum…[then] transported the [victim] to Mercy Hospital’s Emergency Department and demanded that doctors remove the [imaginary] baggie.  Doctors…refused to perform the ill-advised procedure—even after police secured a warrant…[because they] lacked the [victim]’s informed consent and were concerned that if they attempted to remove the [hypothetical] baggy, it might burst, causing whatever it contained to leak out and get rapidly absorbed through the rectal lining — potentially killing the [cops’ victim.  The cops] then threatened to arrest the doctor in charge for refusing to violate the patient’s bodily autonomy…[but] the doctors stood their ground, and the police eventually released the[ir victim] after failing to [manufacture] any evidence of the [manufactur]ed crime of possessing a government-forbidden substance…the[n]…retaliated against the hospital by abruptly refusing to provide security.  The hospital is now suing…

The Last Shall Be First (#1410)

Paxton doesn’t give a damn about women’s sports; he just wants to humiliate women and persecute trans people:

End Demand (#1165)

Massachusetts Puritans are still trying to destroy men’s lives for daring to want consensual sex with adult women:

A case that came before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court last week involves a[n entrapment scheme] conducted by Massachusetts state cops in 2021.  The [cops, fantasy role-play]ing as adult sex workers, posted [fraudulent] ads online and arrested people who responded…the[n]…indicted th[em]…on sex trafficking charges…punishable by at least 5 years in prison (without eligibility for probation, parole, or work release) and a possible 20 years, plus a potential fine of up to $25,000.  The five defendants in [Commonwealth v.] Garafalo…pushed back against the charges, filing a motion to dismiss them in 2022.  State Judge Maynard Kirpalani agreed…[saying,] “the woman in the advertisements was a fictitious individual created by law enforcement, and there was…evidence that any of the Defendants knowingly enabled or caused…another person to engage in commercial sexual activity.”  The state appealed [and lost]…so [it] appealed again…

A Broker in Pillage (#1170)

It’s high time courts stopped letting cops get away with literal armed robbery:

…a [Nevada] judge has ruled that [cops] cannot [abuse] a federal program to circumvent state laws designed to protect property owners.  The ruling effectively closes what the Nevada Highway Patrol…argued was a legal loophole, allowing [cops] to s[teal] property…and [give] it [to the feds, who then refund] 80% of [it to the criminal cops]…The case stemmed from the 2021 [robbery] of retired Marine Stephen Lara’s life savings…[because cops claimed] Lara was following a semi-truck too closely…Lara fought for [year]s to reclaim his money…[until] the court [finally]…concluded that Nevada’s civil forfeiture laws are mandatory, leaving no room for federal workarounds…IJ Attorney Brian Morris [said] “This decision is a wake-up call to other states that have allowed police to skirt their laws by pretending that the federal government’s ‘equitable sharing program’ is a legal loophole”…
