Tyrants have not yet discovered any chains that can fetter the mind. – Charles Caleb Colton
What, you thought we were finished with updates for the month? I’m getting so many of these now I’ll soon be changing the way I handle them; look for a new feature, “That Was the Week That Was”, coming next Saturday (February 4th). But in the meantime…
What the Hell Were You Thinking? (April 4th, 2011)
I’ve suggested that amateur women protect themselves by taking tips from the pros, including checking in and out. Well, somebody had the same idea:
…myDate…makes it easy to set-up a network…who will receive text and e-mail alerts should you not make it back from your date at a [predesignated] time…Provide details of your upcoming date, including where, when…contact information for the person you are going out with…[and] a check-in time…[when] you expect to be back home alone…If you don’t [check in]…text and e-mail alerts are sent to your [contact] list…if something goes wrong, you’ll have loved ones on your trail as soon as possible…if…you stay out longer than expected, you can always…change the check-in time…[or] cancel the whole thing if your date never shows up…
The main flaw in this is that the man doesn’t know about the “app” unless you tell him. A callout does more than let others know your status; “it also sends a clear message to the man: People know where I am and how long I’m supposed to be here…It’s difficult to stop someone who intends to commit a crime with malice aforethought; what basic protective measures do is to deter opportunistic crimes. Locks prevent morally weak people from being tempted to easy thefts, and the knowledge that others know a woman is with him might stop a man with poor impulse control from succumbing to the desire to rape her.”
The Pro-Rape Coalition (April 14th, 2011)
The evidence strongly indicates that as porn has become more available, the rates of rape and other sex crimes have decreased; some studies even suggest that porn is actually responsible for the drop. Therefore, any politician who wants to increase the number of federal obscenity prosecutions is, whether he admits it or not, pro-rape. Some of you might like to know the names of the current presidential candidates who want to see more American women raped, and XBiz is happy to oblige:
…Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich have each pledged to enforce federal obscenity laws against major commercial distributors of hardcore adult pornography. The pledges [were] compiled and published by Morality in Media [as] part of the organization’s…”War on Illegal Pornography”…None of the other…candidates nor President Obama has responded to efforts initiated by MIM to learn their views…
Sales Pitch (May 22nd, 2011)
Sweden is so invested in selling itself as the “feminist” moral arbiter of the world that it’s willing to lie about the success of its eponymous model, pretending that it has greatly reduced both prostitution and the demand for it. So I think it’s fair to consider this scandal (as reported in Feminist Ire) what the young people call an “epic fail”:
I posted…here…that, contrary to the claims of advocates of the Swedish model, brothels continue to thrive under the sex purchase ban. Now, it seems that they’ve had a little bit of help from friends in high places:
A high-ranking civil servant in Sweden’s defence ministry has been sacked after it was revealed he was involved in running several Thai massage parlours on the side…The raids revealed that the wife of the defence ministry official operated three massage parlours in the Stockholm area and that he served as an alternate board member of the company that ran the operation.
And according to the Swedish Tax Agency,
“We have clear indications both in the trafficking of girls and that many deal with unreported wages and pay unreasonably low payroll taxes”.
This isn’t the first time a high-ranking official has been found to be personally involved in undermining Sweden’s claims to have all but eliminated trafficking and sex work. Last year, the chief of police in Uppsala…was convicted on numerous charges including rape, purchasing sex, and “procuring” (translation: he was running a prostitution ring, involving underage girls). And regular Swedish press reports prove that they have as many examples as any other country of police and government officers being (literally) caught with their pants down…What gets my goat is the deliberate deception of those Swedish officials who come to other countries and tell us…that it’s “impossible to run a brothel in Sweden” when your own fucking government official is running several of them – and when their tax non-compliance seems to be the main source of your interest in them…
The Punitive Mindset (October 20th, 2011)
Remember how the unholy union of sadists and neofeminists are trying to ban porn in Connecticut prisons? Well, as explained in this January 10th article from Slate, it gets much worse:
…While you might think of masturbation as a sort of last refuge for the incarcerated…that is not the case. In fact, a number of state prisons regard jerking off as a rule infraction…In North Carolina…it is a violation to “touch the sexual or other intimate parts of oneself or another person for the purpose of sexual gratification”…Tennessee forbids “any behavior intended for the sexual gratification of the subject.” Ohio prohibits “seductive or obscene acts, including indecent exposure or masturbation.” Kentucky regards inmate masturbation as “inappropriate sexual behavior.” In California…masturbation is permissible provided it is stopped immediately if noticed by staff, blue balls be damned. If the masturbator perseveres, even if concealed by bed sheets, he can be cited for “Intentionally Sustained Masturbation without Exposure.” These policies are part of a long correctional tradition to forbid all forms of sexual activity…
In practice, inmates are seldom sanctioned, so long as they touch themselves discreetly. In Connecticut, masturbation is against the rules only when performed “in a lewd and public manner.” Other states have similar policies. But the line between intentional and inadvertent exposure can be blurry in a context where inmates do not control their privacy and cells are sometimes defined as public places. What’s more, some experts on prison sex contend that anti-masturbation and anti-porn policies in prisons are counterproductive because they effectively drive inmates to engage in risky sexual behavior…increased access to pornography—which goes hand-in-hand with increased access to one’s doo-dads—might be just what correctional facilities need to stem prison rape…
…the idea that sexual amenities could or should be part of the American correctional tradition never gained wide acceptance. Prison policy…grew more punitive in the ’70s…Today only six states allow conjugal visits, down from more than a dozen two decades ago… [Another] new factor [is]…the female prison guard…women are steadily replacing men because prisons prefer to hire guards without criminal records and with some education beyond high school—both of which favor female applicants…[also] they can legally oversee housing units for both male and female inmates, whereas men often are permitted to guard and conduct pat-searches only on other men. The result is that male inmates are accorded less privacy in which to masturbate than female inmates…
Prisons must also protect female guards from the hostile work environment…as established in a [2006 federal] case…The threat of sexual harassment is now also used as a justification for keeping porn out of prisons…Connecticut said explicit materials create a hostile environment for staff…[and] Pennsylvania’s 2006 ban was designed to improve working conditions for women…But…what if porn—and its natural consequence, masturbation—has the potential to deter sex crimes like prison rape?…a review paper on porn and sexual aggression from 2009 points out that as the availability of sexually explicit content has exploded in the Internet era, sex crimes have dropped nearly everywhere the matter has been studied. That doesn’t match with the theory that using porn facilitates rape, and some researchers even argue that porn might have a protective effect, by giving people a safe outlet for pent-up desires…patients seeking treatment in sex offender clinics often say porn helps them restrict their urges to their imaginations rather than acting them out by force. In effect, masturbation displaces rape…yet in prisons, Stone Age attitudes toward…sexuality still rule…Correctional officials may wish inmates were sexually inert, but a more pragmatic attitude might yield better results…
Ask yourself what kind of sick mind would want to be a female guard in a male prison, and I think you’ll understand where a lot of this “harassment” nonsense comes from. Angry, sadistic neofeminists aren’t allowed to literally castrate men, but they want to get as close as possible. And if their ridiculous demands cause more men to be raped, that’s just a bonus.
One Year Ago Today
“Wild Guessing (Part Two)” dissects the Schapiro Group’s treatise on stealing grant money from worthwhile programs using lies, exaggeration and appeals to emotion.
Does anyone see that the hiring of male prison guards as discriminatory? Why do female prisoners have more rights against sexual harrassament and assult than male prisoners which also is discriminatory against the men? Women can work in male prisoner inmate housing units and pat male prisoners down, but men can’t do the same to women. Does noone see that male prisoners being much bigger, heavier and stronger on average present a danger to all prison guards because of guards inability to control them? Does anyone see that prison riots, crime inside prison especially male prisons and sexual assualt & rape inside prisons especially male prisons as have either grown steadily worse since the 1960s with the introduction of women working there, the banning of porn, the banning of discreet masturbation and the banning of conjugal visits or has the serious potential to do so as the percentage of female guards etc. increase in male prisons? Does anyone not see that the state losing control of the prisons and the inmates running the prisons more and more on the inside in addition to other cruelties imposed especially on male prisoners increases the dehumanizing effects, belligerant racism, and criminal tendencies especially violent tendencies of such prisoners especially male prisoners most of whom are someday released into society at large? How will all of this affect society at large?
We’ll leave aside the fact that a long time age an article was written at The Spearhead about female prison guards as being more likely to have voluntary sex with male prisoners than male prison guards as having voluntary sex with female prisoners at http://www.the-spearhead.com which I can’t find right now. Maybe someone here can. This doesn’t even include sexual assault and rape which is more likely to happen in male prisons than female prisons. especially of the opposite sex when it comes to prison guards which is my opinion, but which can probably be backed by statistics and studies somewhere. Does noone see the looming disaster besides me?
If I seemed a little passionate about what I wrote above, it’s because I am. I realized this after printing my commentary above and going grocery shopping. The reason for this is because I guarded the Prisoners of War, POWs, or detainees has my commanding officer and noncommisioned officers called them in Afghanistan as a U.S. Soldier. We only had a two day training course which means none of us was as well trained as your typical prison guard in the USA. I realize this, but it does not discredit anything I say because I’ve done the job which means this counts the most. Some soldiers guarded the POW’s, most of whom but not all were rebeling Taliban, without going through the training course. What can I say except for this:the military can say to you at any moment, guess what you’re doing today? Whatever we your higher ranked(supervisors) tell you to do is the response. It’s like this in all militaries and any branch of service within the said militaries not just the U.S. military, and I’ve worked with foreign militaries so I know this.
Even though I’m out of the military I try to show respect for those still serving and not say too much so as not to harm their safety. I will tell you what the situation was like and try to say as little as possible to be prudent. We had tents which had barbed wire seperating the POWs on their cots from the Soldiers on their chairs who were unarmed so the POWs couldn’t grab our firearms and kill us or hurt us or escape inside the tents. One tent had supplies and was a place we stacked our loaded firearms with a Soldier guarding it. There was a bunker to protect the POWs and Soldiers from incoming indirect fire of mortars and rockets as well as small arms fire from enemy Taliban outside the installation or camp or Forward Operating Base, FOB. There was a portapotty to urinate and defecate as well as an exercise yard for the POWs and Soldiers to use. All of this was surrounded by barbed wire. At least two Soldiers had to blindfold and handcuff POWs to move the POWs to the portapotty to urinate and defecate, to the exercise yard to exercise and to the bunker for protection inside the barbed wire area for the POWs.. It required at least two soldiers to move the POWs to the interrogation room for interogation and to the latrines with showers outside the POW barbed wire area but still on the FOB. The military was working on building a better prison for the POWs and Soldiers on the FOB. That’s another thing about the military is you need to learn to deal with what you have not what you need or want and make it work. My FOB was 7000 feet above sea level plus the mountains surrounding us were at 10,000 feet above sea level, and I’m sure you can find a way to convert that into meters if you want because I don’t know the height in meters. Sorry.
We had only male POWs. Some were falsely accused of being the enemy. Most weren’t Most had killed other human beings before. Many were opium addicts and having withdrawl symptoms. The use of narcotics was much higher among the enemy in Afgansistan than Iraq, and I’m a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan. Narcotics use was also higher in Afghanistan among U.S. Military personell and allied military personell than Iraq. We operated much better when we only had male Soldiers guarding the male POWs. Then our leadership got stupid and changed that which is another thing you need to know about the military is that your leadership can give any lawful order which will get you hurt, mutilated, maimed and killed even if it is a stupid order. Fortuneately, the male Afghan POWs were respectful to the female Soldiers and some even tried to flirt with them in spite of the fact that females were more verbally abusive on average to the POWs on average. Too many of the male Soldiers were trying to flirt with the female Soldiers instead of do their job, and the female Soldiers were just as guilty of this. The females couldn’t take to POWs to the shower either and were told it was a bad idea to pat the POWs down. Considering that even your average Afghan man could beat the stuffing out of your average American women in addition to what I said before, this made female guards considerably less capable than male guards. The Average Afghan man was smaller and weaker except for running(because they lived at high altitudes) than the average American man, but some of them including the POWs were big and strong enough to knock over and beat us American soldiers to a pulp in a one on one fight including me. The POWs were notoriois for being clever and sneaky enough to make or find shanks. We Soldiers patted them down constantly to reduce this. Fortuneately, noone was hurt nor truly abused while I was there, but the potential was always there.
Afghanistan is a much poorer country than Iraq in almost every regard to the extent that if the Aghanistanis moved to Iraq, they would improve their living conditions dramatically, and we all know Iraq is poor. Religious dogmatism is higher in Afghanistan because of the lack of technology, infrastructure and education to a higher degree than in Iraq in that order. There may be other reasons too. Technology has done more to help women than education and laws. If you don’t believe me, go to Iraq, then go Afghanistan to see and hear the truth before your eyes and ears. Technology precedes education and laws. If you are unable or unwilling to visit both Iraq and Afgahnistan, keep thinking about how the Gutenberg press improved everyone’s life including women. Think about refrigeration, running water, electricity etc.
Someone over at the made a comment at The Spearhead blog article
“Superbowl Trafficing Sex-Hysteria Back in the News”, by W.F. Price, that the Swedish model for prostitution is a disaster especially for the whores because it endangers the whores even more than the old system. He states that whores are more likely to have another crime such as robbery and battery commited aginst them as well as be told that no condoms will be used during sex by an increasing number of johns. It makes sense because when you unecessarily criminalize something which should have never been criminalized in the first place, it only attracts those with criminal and stupid tendencies. What’s a few crimes more is the attitude of both the whores and the johns becomes more commonplace. In addition to the much greater and unecessary danger presented to the whores in Nordic countries because of the Swedish model, I’m sure it has become at least a little more dangerous and unnecessary for the johns too. Has noone over their heard of nor understood the concept of harm reduction? I guess the resounding answer is NO!!!
As for the rich, powerful and ruling elite(pick one, pick two or pick all three), there’s one set of rules for the bourgeousie(rich, powerful and ruling elite) and one st for the proletariat(everyone else). For the Socialists and Communists who know I’m a paleo consrvative libertairian leaning Capitalist, it’s much worse under Socialism which always leads to tyrrany. Look at the Swedish model for prostitution for example. Where are we more free in the USA 18th and 19th centuries or the 20th and 21st centuries? It’s the former and not the latter as the USA has become more socialized and it’s viscious daughter neofeminism has become more ascendant. Even the in the American patriarchy before the American Civil War(1861-65) except for voting rights, women seem to have had more liberty and safety, and men especially White men certainly did. Now it’s getting worse for everyone no matter what your gender or race. You can also say that other Western countries had more free individuals in the past than now in many if not all respects, and they are becoming less free too. This especially includes Nordic countries. For those of you who say that socialism and feminism especially neofeminism was a good thing and supposed to make all people more free as well as more equal, why has it generally had the opposite effect? For some examples why has Socialism, government control and prohibitionagainst prostitution been increasing since we have increased Socialism, voting rights for women, and feminism especially neofeminism? I’m not stating that there is a cause and effect relationship here, nor am I blaming women, female voting suffrage and feminism, but there is a correalation. You can deny the cause and effect, but you can’t deny the correalation, and I am the same in this regard. Here’s an interesting article, “Ayatollah Santorum the Sanctimonious(ASS)” on Friday 20 January, 2012 at http://www.lewrockwell.com by Thomas DiLorenzo at the Lew Rockwell libertarian site about colonial British dominated North America and the American War for Independence or American Revolutionary War prior to 1783 concerning prostitution being rampant and unregualted and the prohibition of prostitution coming into effect in the early 20th century USA among other things. He also states how American whores plyed their trade of prostitution as well as acted as chefs and nurses for American Soldiers under General Washington during the American Revolutionary War(1775-83) here.

For the record, I don’t believe there should be any male staff in female prisons, whatsoever. Yet there are. So why don’t we switch female staff working in male prisons over to female prisons and vice-versa?
The right of prisoners to be properly rehabilitated trumps “equal opportunity” political correctness mumbo-jumbo. The job of “prison guard” should never be thought of as a permanent career, in any circumstance.
Susan, I’ve left three long commentaries, teo of which addresses the prison issues above. I fully agree with you in my heart because I know most people don’t truly want equality between the sexes but female superiority. However, if you want equality, I’ll say ok as long as you truly mean it. This means no more pedestalization of women, no more chivalry, no more excuses for women, and true equality between the sexes. I’m all for true equality in my heart of hearts, but know most women and men don’t want it and would shriek in horror, anger and agony if women got it and had to live much more like a men. Too many call out the unfair glass ceiling which I will admit is harder for a women to break above than a man, but almost noone calls out the glass floor which many more men are allowed to descend below if not outright against their will thrown below.
I totally agree; there is far too much potential for abuse in prisons to start with, and opposite-gender guards magnify that potential dramatically. I also totally agree that “prison guard” should never be a permanent job (police should be rotated through), and I’ll add that it’s madness to allow prisons to be run for profit because that creates an establishment which is motivated to imprison as many people as possible for as long as possible, and is therefore willing to lobby for ever-more-draconian laws.
I think related to this is the sick cultural acceptance of prison rape. The authorities are doing everything they can do deny prisoners any reasonable sexual outlet, such as porn, masturbation or conjugal visits. But they’d are only vaguely interested in preventing prisoners from raping each other, even joking about it. At the risk of sounding Ike a neofeminist, this isnt about sex; it’s about dehumanization. I’m a law and order, lock up the violent kind of guy. But I’m also sympathetic to the quote by – Dostoyevsky? – that you can judge a society by its prisons.
I’m definitely a law and order guy too despite what some idiots may say. My response to those who think it’s ok for prisoners to control the prisons to the extent that they do so they can rape other prisoners is that the state and government have lost control. Why should anyone especially the prisoners respect them? They can not and should not. One can only respect those who are truly in control and truly govern justly. To those who joke about prison rape, maybe prisoners experiencing a justified level of schadenfreude(pleasure at their sorrow) at the expense of those who joke about prison rape is justice and it’s better you get it here, repent of your sins and are punished in this world for sinning against God and His laws, then you get judged and punished in the afterlife. American prisons are not designed to rehabilitate criminal prisoners so they never commit crime again. Instead they are designed to make criminal prisoners harder, more inhumane and more likely to commit crime as well as get better at commiting crime. This wouldn’t be a problem, but at some point most of the prisoners are released and inflict themselves on law abiding citizens like us. The only thing which stops them from being worse is old age, not the imprisoning itself. Even law abiding citizens on average become less violent and criminally prone as they age so of course on average the criminals do too. You can speak about morality, but morality only counts for the next world not this one. You can speak about the law, but the law is nothing more than the strong having power and imposing its will over the weak and it often has little to nothing to do with morality. Keep in mind one day you might be the criminal and the prisoner. Laws can be made to criminalize you or those who enforce the law can set you up or criminalize you. I’m not saying don’t be moral and just in this world nor disobey the law, but what i am saying is have a skeptical eye on the law and government the way the American founding fathers did. The less laws, the better I say and they did say. There is a difference between vice(harming oneself) and true crime(harming others). Know the difference. Prostitution and narcotics use is a vice, and murder and genuine rape(not like the neofeminists defined it) for example. Remember true human justice is never achieved in this world only varying degrees of mercy or lack of it because we are not perfect. I’m not saying human justice is unnecessary, and we can not live without human justice.
I meant to say murder and genuine rape are true crimes above.
“tits prisons”. Hmm. That’s the last time I’m commenting with a tablet. Can’t even see what I’m writing.
Fixed it. If you hadn’t caught it, I was going to make some sort of lame bondage joke. 😉
I was thinking more of a bra joke. A friend of mine calls shoes “foot coffins” so wouldn’t “tit prison” be an appropriate name for a brassiere? Think of the double entendres.
Sure, but a bondage joke is more fun. 🙂
And they won’t either – because if they even thought about letting up on prosecution of obscenity laws – the Neo-Feminists, who reside almost exclusively in the Democratic Party would be offended.
However …
I just thought of something and that is this … if all the hookers, and every form of sex worker formed a dues paying union and contributed money to the Democratic Party – then suddenly a lot of doors might start to open since they seem content to violate any law in order to satiate their union supporters.
Not letting the Republicans off the hook here at all – at least the Democrats GET SOMETHING for their support of Neo-Feminism. The Republicans get NOTHING but an incoherent and inconsistent message of “liberty” from their support of the Neo-Feminists.
Very interesting article but as someone who considers herself to be an anti-porn crusader, I just don’t understand why some people NEED porn in order to masturbate. Whatever happened to imagination?
As a rule, men are much more visual creatures than we are; what imagining a situation does for you, an image can do for a man. The Mars contingent here will no doubt express how they see it, but as it was explained to me porn isn’t necessary for men to masturbate, but it makes it much easier.
The erotic image is very important. It does not have to be a porn image; it may be taken from an event in real life, or even an artificial image derived purely from imagination.
The idea is to reach a level of excitation in the brain greater than normal, so that climax is experienced differently. In my case, it is the difference between a merely good orgasm and an “omg-my-brain-is-exploding” type orgasm. What surprised me was that it is even possible to feel a tingling sensation in one’s eyes.
Porn can be used to find the appropriate images; quickly differentiating between likes and dislikes. So for example, I find the whole 1930s/40s/50s aesthetic to be very exciting, while threesomes have always struck me as quite boring.
The problem is when some men try to “learn” from porn, which is like trying to learn how to drive an automobile from watching a car chase in a Hollywood movie.
That’s what I talked about in my post “Scary Movies” (Read the comments, too).
Done.
Adding a payment scene would increase realism, but then for a professional to have unprotected coitus would shatter the illusion again.
I was thinking she might not be a pro, but a semi-pro. She needs to be motivated somehow, and I just don’t see that in porn.
Hhhhmmmnnn……
Female prison guard takes delight in blue-balling male prisoners, making castrating remarks, patting them down much more than is necessary, “accidentally” seeing them naked… and then when the prison riots start she gets captured and…………….
Yep, there’s one hell of a porn flick in this. Wish that was the only place this crap happened. Degradation themes in porn are a lot less fun (for me at least) when I keep finding them in real life.
