It’s very strange that [these] alleged demons are aware of our examination timetable. They only surface when pupils are preparing for the exams. – Awebahe Hoeseb
Besides building a two-story residence for the outside cat and kittens who moved into her shop a few months ago (no “cathouse” jokes, please), Grace also managed to contribute the top four links this week. The first video (“A Whiter Shade of Pale” arranged in J.S. Bach’s style and performed on a pipe organ) was provided by Michael Whiteacre, and the second (a fan-made trailer for an imaginary Wonder Woman movie) by my husband; the links between were supplied by Jesse Walker, Ally Fogg, EconJeff, Aspasia, Jason Kuznicki, Keep Food Legal, Emil Kirkegaard and Lucy Steigerwald (in that order).

“Why do you care about surveillance? What do you have to hide?”
The government is clumsy, incompetent, greedy, corrupt, and prone to suddenly decide that behavior that has always been legal is now criminal. Not our government now; all governments, ever. For these reasons it is nearly always in the citizens’ interest to keep the State blind, deaf, and crippled.
The Daily Mail hates me. I’ve no doubt on that. The only way they could hate me more is if I was Muslim. Bu then, the Muslims would probably hate me more than the Daily Mail. There’s no winning there is there?
The Mail hates me too…But it was the Mail that, shortly after the inquest on Stephen Lawrence, pictured and named 5 young men who it said were “murderers”, and invited them to sue.
I get your message about never calling the cops. A question; in the UK if something is stolen from me, and I want to make an insurance claim, I have to have reported this to the cops and have a crime incident number. How do I get out of this?
My guess is that the relative level of safety is higher if you go to the police station where (at least in the outer room) there are more witnesses. However, keep in mind that there is nothing to stop them from running your ID, discovering some ancient bench warrant that was settled long ago, and throwing you in a cage. That has almost happened to me twice: one time (reporting someone shooting at my car) the cop was so embarrassed he just told me about it instead of caging me and suggested I deal with it immediately. The other time (caught in a speed trap) the (state) cop tried his damnedest to get New Orleans cops to come and get me, and when they refused he contented himself with telling me he’d arrest me if I tried to drive my car, thereby forcing me to walk about a kilometer in high heels down a busy highway at 10 PM to get to the nearest pay phone (this was in 1989) to get two friends to come fetch my car. He was still waiting to catch me when we returned over an hour later.
In both cases, it was for a long-paid ticket the “authorities” had neglected to record properly.
Frankly, if it were me I’d write off the loss. But perhaps in the UK it isn’t nearly as bad as it is here.
I call the NOLA police all the time when I’m working at the bar. I’ve had no problems with them.
Then again – I’m a political guy usually so I KNOW THEM and take care of them. I buy ’em drinks all the time.
Cops don’t just like donuts! 🙂
Twice made insurance claims for theft. First was theft of expensive photographic kit in Geneva Airport, followed by a performance there trying to get an officer who spoke either English or German. But was successful, from two different insurances. Second was attempted theft of hot water tank from a small house, at the height of the metal theft craze a few years ago. Two cops came to the crime scene, one a standard issue PSNI chap; the other a if-I-were-30-years-younger type. Looked around, issued a docket. Thieves came back a few days later and removed tank. Insurance refused to pay up, as house was unoccupied.
I guess the PSNI aren’t quite so bad as their predecessors, or as the cops in the US, but the continuing stories about the Metropolitan Police and the West Riding force in England make me very suspicious.
No Cathouse Jokes! Alrighty then! But I can still tell a joke …
“What do you call a smiling Roman with pubic hair between his teeth?”
Give up?
“Gladiator!”
A few things happened this week that really have me infuriated. In fact, I’m headed to Washington DC next week to help WWII Vets cross “Barrycades” which King Obama has erected because of the hissy fit he’s having. Apparently this “Boy King” doesn’t have the balls to protect our folks in Libya from terrorists – but he’s damn sure going to protect that WWII open-air memorial from being seen by the men and women who are responsible for it being there!
FUCK HIM. And they can arrest me – I don’t give a shit.
But it’s not just there … Obama’s stormtroopers are “coning off” sections of highways in South Dakota to block A SIMPLE FUCKING VIEW of Mount Rushmore.
Vietnam Vets were ejected from the Vietnam War Memorial by Obama’s shock troops.
Obama has ejected property owners living in LAKE MEAD from their homes because those homes are on public property. “Just grab your shit guys and we’ll let you know when you can come back!” This is a fucking tyranny now.
When Harry Reid, the King’s “Sheriff” was asked why he wouldn’t open NIH and help the cancer kids – if only to save one life – he said, “Why would I want to do that?”
Sports coverage is being cut to our troops overseas but hell yeah you better believe this King is still feeding them five hours of propaganda courtesy of MSNBC.
Stormtroopers BLOCKADED the privately run Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway in order to FORCE the owner to close.
But the son-of-a-bitch has decided he’s ready to release ME as a hostage. Congress passed legislation last week to ensure the active duty military gets paid. Well, that means to me that civilians who operate the military pay system should go back to work. However, King Obama has now unilaterally declared that law applies to ANY DoD civilian who provides support to the military – of any kind! So I guess I’m headed back to work even though I don’t support the active duty military – THEY SUPPORT ME!
Fuck it – I ain’t ready to go back!
And – I am just infuriated that the Capitol police executed this woman in a barrage of gunfire and she didn’t even have a fucking weapon!! As someone who’s intimately familiar with the use of deadly force – I’m telling you what they did was a crime! I’ve guarded nuclear storage facilities where I was authorized to kill anyone who approached it – no questions asked – but still my superiors told me … “You better not do that unless you’re sure they’re a threat”. When did these fucking Congressmen become more important than a nuclear weapon?
God Damn I’m so mad I’m shaking … I need another joke …
Q: What do you call the space between the vagina and the “mud valve”?
A: The chinrest!
Oh, and good news! It’s settled folks – SIZE DOESN’T MATTER
http://www.livescience.com/40192-penis-shame-guys-heads.html
Women care about flaccid length?
Oh and a question for Maggie … do they train hookers to always say … “Whoa, I think you’ll be a lot more comfortable in a MAGNUM!” Cuz they all say this to me even though I’m only like a half-inch over “average”. I mean, every single one of the girls I visit has to comment on this and I’m like … “Would you hush girl? I’m 51 and I’m good with my junk being average!”
Oh put another way … the “Rules of Engagement” for the Capitol Police are apparently A LOT looser than the shitty ROE I had to operate under in Afghanistan. At one point, I couldn’t even shoot a guy carrying an AK-47 until he shot at me!
Okay, I’m not going to argue the point about the ROE the DC police operate under, or Senator Reid’s gaffes, and this is probably going to make you even more angry than you already are (and for that I apologize).
However, I’m having a hard time picturing Obama issuing specific directives about this sort of minutae. I would think that any president, even Obama, has other more important things to deal with (even if his ways of dealing with them are ineffectual at best) than personally making sure some family can’t look at Mount Rushmore.
You can blame Obama for not yielding on the ACA (though I do wonder if he had, if Republicans would now be railing even more about how weak and spineless Obama supposedly is), but I’m just not seeing it.
To address two of your examples, there’s this story about WWII vets and their memorial: http://www.stripes.com/news/wwii-veterans-storm-dc-memorial-closed-by-government-shutdown-1.244447
Those “stormtroopers” are pretty darn poor if they can be just swept aside as this article describes.
And as for TV for the troops overseas, I could point to the fact that Fox News is as much a part of the lineup as MSNBC is (perhaps more, I don’t know the regs), plus I would guess it has more to do with whatever agreement the NFL, NBA, etc. has with Armed Forces Networks to pay for the broadcasts.
Plus, I’ll just posit this: it’s been said here on multiple occasions and by multiple people that Americans need to wake up to what is going on in their government. Well, can you think of a better way to get people’s attention that something has gone seriously wrong and perhaps they should be taking a closer look?
That isn’t to say the reaction will take place or that the people will draw the right conclusions, but the ball’s got to start rolling somewhere.
I’ll give that some desk jockey at Parks closed those open air memorials on the first day ..
But after that – it got so much MEDIA attention that it is completely naive to think that Obama isn’t the one ordering it – and ESCALATING IT.
And as far as a President having better things to do – what better thing is there than torturing the people that disagree with him – which is more than half of the American people when it comes to ObmaCare.
Torture, huh? Are you referring to people merely believing that the ACA is a bad law (and think it’s torture that the Republicans have failed to halt its implementation) or are you saying that in the literal sense?
Granted, if this shutdown keeps up much longer and continues to affect things like WIC and food stamps, we might start seeing torture in the way of starvation.
Vietnam Veterans visiting the Vietnam Memorial was arrested.
Why are making excuses for a President who’s a piece of shit? There is no way you can possibly defend his actions here.
This isn’t Marxism – this is some kind of strange 10th grader’s petty version of it! Even Caesar had enough common sense to know you don’t fuck with vets.
Krulac, I don’t want to make you more angry. I think you are a smart guy and wish we were having this conversation in real time over a drink (in my case root beer since I choose not to drink alcohol).
I’m not trying to make excuses for Obama. I was merely questioning whether these are HIS actions versus the actions of people who are probably just thankful they haven’t joined the ranks of the unemployed yet. Okay, he does set the tone that the rest of his administration is using to do this, but I find it hard to believe that he’s suddenly gotten so dumb that he wouldn’t realize how badly this could backfire on him. Hasn’t one of the chief complaints against him been that he’s so cautious he can’t make a hard decision?
I have no great love for Obama. I suppose what I’m trying to say is I wish people would dial back their anger or focus it better (I’m speaking in a general sense here).
I find myself thinking back to the Bush II years, and the level of vitriol that was hurled at his administration from the left (I don’t think calls of tyranny were unfamiliar). It didn’t make those on the other side want to listen and I doubt it’s going to make people listen now when the sides are reversed.
Think Obama is a POS? Fine, then figure out a way to defeat the Democrats (and perhaps the Republicans too) in the upcoming midterms to deprive Obama of what support he has left in Congress. Or, if he is truly as bad as you and others say he is, then call your Congressperson as often as you can and urge them to begin impeachment procedures. They impeached Clinton for less than what many are accusing Obama of right now.
However, going and making a big show of protesting and possibly getting yourself arrested? Isn’t that supposedly what they want you to do so they can neutralize you in a cage?
Anger can be a great motivator but only, I think, if one takes a longer view.
There’s no doubt these actions are coming directly from the Spite House.
I was no great Bush fan either … I was not a Bill Clinton fan either – neither man ever shut down these memorials – and for those who were around and paying attention – Bill Clinton had a government shutdown on his watch and kept the memorials open.
Bill Clinton didn’t eject elderly people from their homes in Lake Meade and he didn’t cone off highways to prevent people from simply “looking” at shit. Think about that for a second – we ridicule people who think they can control our thoughts but I submit anyone who thinks he can control my fucking eyes and what I LOOK at is equally delusional.
Meanwhile – Obama’s Golf Course is completely open.
Make no mistake – this is HIS shutdown theater of torture and he’s out to ensure that the people who sacrificed the most for this nation are the ones who are going to pay for it. About 600 of our WWII vets die each day – in a few years they will all be gone. This is the last chance for many of them to see the memorials THEY built with their blood and sacrifice.
People on the right have insisted for years that Obama hates America – here, finally – is the undeniable proof they were correct! When you spit on these vets – you’re spitting on America because we wouldn’t be here without them.
There’s a special place in hell for this man, my friend. His pettiness has finally reached a very telling point.
I have an uncle buried in a memorial cemetery in Belgium – that’s probably even closed down now even though IT TOO is an “open air” memorial. The one at Normandy is shut down – that’s for sure. My generation is one of the last in America who UNDERSTAND what these men and women sacrificed and the heroic way they saved the WORLD back then. My uncle was a 19 year old farmboy who volunteered. He was trained … and his VERY FIRST action in combat was assaulting the beach at Normandy. Because his company (in 1st Division / 18th Infantry Regiment) was virtually wiped out – they moved him the very next day to a new company in order to “consolidate” survivors for the push to Germany. From D-Day – until the day he died in late November, 1944 – he got not a single day off from the war. He fought all the way through the battles of the Hürtgen Forest – which was one, weeks long hellish meat grinder. When he emerged from that forest – he was shot by a sniper while cleaning out the town of Langerwehe – AFTER allied forces had won the battle!
This was a 19 year old kid. Yeah, I did some time in combat … EASY time. I always had the advantage – I was fighting a bunch of idiots who were poorly armed both in terms of weapons and in common sense. Not the case for our WWII vets – they fought seriously hard combat under the worst possible conditions.
I can understand a guy like “Shitler” shitting on them – but an American President?
I just did a quick search to try and find some more stories about this. I searched “veterans arrested,” which I thought would be sure to be in a headline. The closest thing I saw was this: http://www.popularresistance.org/veterans-to-face-arrest-at-vietnamveterans-memorial-plaza/, and those are anti-war protesters.
Perhaps I’m not looking in the right place. Who’s reporting about Vietnam veterans being arrested? I’m not being flippant, I honestly would like to see for myself. The stories I see are saying the vets aren’t obeying the barriers (as well they shouldn’t) and they are still getting through, police or no police. If you’re willing to help me out, what news sources are you looking at?
Again, you’re using the word torture. What’s happening is disrespectful, to be sure, but I do not consider it torture. Nor do I personally consider cutesy nicknames like “Spite House” or “Barrycades” helpful in convincing one side or the other, no more so than when liberals reduced themselves to using “Bushie” or “Shrub” when talking about our previous president.
If we are so certain that Obama is personally ordering this (as opposed to hastily-written instructions being haphazardly implemented by mid- to low-level bureaucrats), then I would think there are some signed papers (or an Oval Office aide willing to sing) that would provide proof of malfeasance in office that would force him out. As I said before, Clinton was impeached for less and who could resist the opportunity to become famous as the person responsible for bringing down a president for disrespect to the veterans of America?
Look face it – nothing this cat does is going to bother you – you’ll keep making excuses for him. Jesus Christ – you’re making all these excuses for him while you cherry-pick away at my usage of terminology like “torture” – yeah, I consider it torture to refuse entrance to a 90 year old WWII veteran who will never get a chance to see his memorial again. Call me crazy!
But you’ve got scant little criticism of him and what he’s doing. “Oh it’s okay if they block off the memorials if the vets in wheel chairs can find a way to climb over them.” That’s what you’re saying.
You’re upset I use a slur like “Spite House” but you’re not angered at all by the treatment of vets?
“Spite House” is “unhelpful” … oh pray tell, perhaps GETTING ON MY KNEES would be helpful! I could give two shits how helpful the term is – the idiot has EARNED it.
No fucking liberal is going to listen to me until I put my fist in his face – and that’s coming brother and when it does – y’all know that you caused it with this disrespectful bullshit. I’m some kind of evil person for saying “Spite House” – but the parade of liberal fools calling Republican’s “terrorists” – you don’t have an issue with. Please bro …
Now this bullshit where you excuse him by saying he didn’t order it …
What makes you think EVERY order is put into writing? They’re made via phone call – so there is no paper trail to hang anyone one. All White House emails and correspondence are available to the public via the FOIA – except those deemed classified. And you can bet – if someone fucked up and put the order in an email – it will be deemed “classified” or “executive privilege” by this Spite House.
Unbelievable – you’ve put the onus on ME to prove this? Okay – here’s my proof – this story has been covered NEGATIVELY in the news for over a week – and the Asshole In Chief’s very own Press Secretary has been asked about so we know “Dear Leader” knows what is happening.
And yet he has done not a thing to stop it.
Proof positive brother – only a liberal would demand proof in writing for something as commonsensical as this.
Quit fooling yourself pal – you’re firmly on his side – why not just come out and say so instead of trying to pick apart my words in some attempt to invalidate them? It’s a lot more honest on your part.
As far as the report on the Vietnam Vets arrested – that came from a friend of mine living in DC – he’s been running back and forth through the memorials since this all began. He told me on the phone … “Krulac, they arrested three of ’em.”
Now – whether they just cuffed the guys and let them go later – I do not know. But he saw three vets who refused to leave and they were cuffed and walked away by park police. He said they went without a fight.
Krulac, Sir, I just came back from a nice drive, so apologies for not replying sooner (I hope the quotes work):
“Look face it – nothing this cat does is going to bother you – you’ll keep making excuses for him. Jesus Christ – you’re making all these excuses for him while you cherry-pick away at my usage of terminology like “torture” – yeah, I consider it torture to refuse entrance to a 90 year old WWII veteran who will never get a chance to see his memorial again. Call me crazy!”
As I said above, I have no love for Obama. I didn’t even vote for him in the last election. He and those he has appointed have bungled many, many things in his time in office. I suppose the thought of him laughing at ruining a veteran’s trip to DC is icing on the cake.
“But you’ve got scant little criticism of him and what he’s doing. “Oh it’s okay if they block off the memorials if the vets in wheel chairs can find a way to climb over them.” That’s what you’re saying.”
I refer back to the story I found in Stars and Stripes. It describes that Rep. Steve King and other lawmakers tearing down the barriers so the veterans can go in, and they were applauded for doing so. Granted, I don’t know if that was for just this one group or not. Have other groups actually been stopped by the barriers or have “exceptions” been made?
“You’re upset I use a slur like “Spite House” but you’re not angered at all by the treatment of vets?”
I’m not “upset” by you using that slur and I AM angered that veterans were inconvenienced in this way. If I may digress for a moment, I am a USAF member (7 years enlisted) and if it’s taught me one thing it’s the meaning of respect. Perhaps unlike many of my generation, I am drawn to 20th century history and have sought out knowledge about WWII on my own time, so I do recognize what our veterans experienced and the great respect they deserve for it.
“No fucking liberal is going to listen to me until I put my fist in his face – and that’s coming brother and when it does – y’all know that you caused it with this disrespectful bullshit. I’m some kind of evil person for saying “Spite House” – but the parade of liberal fools calling Republican’s “terrorists” – you don’t have an issue with. Please bro …”
I never said you’re an evil person for saying “Spite House”, nor would I ever say you are an evil person, period. I have too much respect for you. In fact, I realize the way my reply was worded made it seem like I was singling you out. That wasn’t my intention and I apologize. I was speaking in general about seeing discussions about politics (in places other than on this blog) reduced to overheated name-calling contests.
And I DO have an issue with liberals calling Republican’s “terrorists.” It adds nothing to the discussion and is an insult to those who are victims of actual terrorist violence.
“Now this bullshit where you excuse him by saying he didn’t order it …
What makes you think EVERY order is put into writing? They’re made via phone call – so there is no paper trail to hang anyone one. All White House emails and correspondence are available to the public via the FOIA – except those deemed classified. And you can bet – if someone fucked up and put the order in an email – it will be deemed “classified” or “executive privilege” by this Spite House.”
I realize not everything is in writing. That’s why I suggested the possibility of an aide or someone overhearing who could be persuaded to spill the beans. Obama’s White House has been plagued by leaks since the beginning, both in favor of and against his administration. In this day and age, I would think something like this would break sooner or later.
“Unbelievable – you’ve put the onus on ME to prove this? Okay – here’s my proof – this story has been covered NEGATIVELY in the news for over a week – and the Asshole In Chief’s very own Press Secretary has been asked about so we know “Dear Leader” knows what is happening.”
Okay, fine, you got me. Obama knows about it and he hasn’t stopped it. Shame on him, then. I’m guessing it’ll be another case where he “wasn’t aware” of it, something else that I don’t like about how he runs his White House. He never says “you know what? I’m responsible for what those under me do.”
“Quit fooling yourself pal – you’re firmly on his side – why not just come out and say so instead of trying to pick apart my words in some attempt to invalidate them? It’s a lot more honest on your part.”
Nope, I’m not on Obama’s side, nor am I on the Republican’s side. I’m on the side of whoever can make the government function in such a way as to leave people like you and me free to go about and live their lives. Right now, neither half of the DC dichotomy is interested in doing that.
“As far as the report on the Vietnam Vets arrested – that came from a friend of mine living in DC – he’s been running back and forth through the memorials since this all began. He told me on the phone … “Krulac, they arrested three of ‘em.”
Now – whether they just cuffed the guys and let them go later – I do not know. But he saw three vets who refused to leave and they were cuffed and walked away by park police. He said they went without a fight.”
That’s all I wanted. It’s even better than a news report, because it’s first-hand testimony.
I have said … numerous times – that I am not an intelligent guy. I am a happy-go-lucky – peaceful guy until my ire is raised – and then I want to punch the guy responsible. I’m a pretty simple guy.
I don’t care if WWII Vets CAN get into the memorials – the very act of the U.S. Government – the Government THEIR sacrifices enabled – “barrycading” them from seeing them is simply an insult I can’t stand. Additionally – the fountains are turned off – and at night so are the lights … and that memorial is quite stunning at night with the lights on. I realize the government is shutdown – but these are old men who are about to die. This memorial was built using private donations and the money left over was placed into a trust fund in the U.S. Treasury where it was supposed to be exclusively used to operate that memorial.
To quote Obama himself … Obama “didn’t build that”.
So whether or not they can get in or not … the very act of attempting to prevent their entrance … is something that I cannot stand for.
I hold the Asshole in Chief responsible for this – because, although he may not have started it – he has definitely had numerous opportunities to END it and he done nothing but ESCALATE it (they are now wiring the barrycades together so they must be cut through with wire cutters).
Meanwhile … this …
http://hotair.com/archives/2013/10/07/good-news-national-mall-ostensibly-closed-due-to-shutdown-to-open-for-immigration-reform-rally/
The National Mall is CLOSED too – yet an immigration reform rally is now being allowed.
I don’t care what anyone says – but a dickhead who shits on veterans while allowing open-access to his political cronies has two things …
1st – he’s shit on the men and women who built this nation with their blood and sacrifice – and there’s a special place in hell for him.
2nd – he’s politicized “America’s City” … “Hey those that agree with me get to come see shit – those that don’t … won’t!”
Somehow he believes that Vets oppose him.
Last week he may have been wrong about that … but NOT this week. We ALL damn sure oppose him now.
Let’s be realistic here – this is a peaceful protest – that’s the way it usually happens with the side I am on. I don’t expect anyone to get raped, I don’t expect anyone to throw stones at anyone, and I suspect everyone will clean up their mess at the end of the day. I DO have a feeling we are going into those memorials – and if enough vets show then the government is going to have to make a decision of either leaving us there or arresting us.
If they want to arrest me for peacefully helping old men enjoy the memorial they built – MAKE MY DAY! In fact … put that on my gravestone when I die! “Arrested for taking a stand with veterans of WWII” … that’s what makes this so unbelievable – the Spite House doesn’t even understand the negative optics involved.
And – I’m not concerned about throwing the Dims out of the White House. Everyone seems to think that all power comes from DC – it does at the moment because that’s the prevailing paradigm. In fact, the South – which has all but eliminated the Democratic party within our own borders – is bigger geographically than any European state! Let Obama do all the overreaching he wishes – and this shutdown fight will certainly embolden him – but there’s no way my neighbors down here are going to say … “Oh well … we lost … let’s capitulate”. NO – the resistance to this Marxism will grow stronger down here until you see the Governors and the States in open rebellion to the federal government …
http://www.decodedscience.com/3101-bill-make-obamacare-illegal-south-carolina/37766
I don’t expect anything to come of that bill – it’s not time yet. The anger hasn’t reached a tipping point down here – but if the Boy King keeps up his shit – it’s gonna tip.
I didn’t see this until after I posted my last reply, so apologies if this is a bit disjointed. I think I already addressed the point related to protests. I didn’t mean to imply that you were automatically going to be belligerent (you have too much common sense to do that), what I meant was at this moment it appears that the veterans are getting to see their memorials despite the presence of barriers and such, because as you say, who in the world is going to say no to them?
With regards to your point about the South, are you suggesting that this time around secession is actually a serious possibility, as opposed to a rhetorical device used by the fringe? Because you are probably right that the South won’t “capitulate” as you say, but open rebellion? I would hope (and yes, I realize that doesn’t mean much nowadays) that those States and Governors would stop and think twice about that. That seems to me a massive tempting of the Law of Unintended Consequences.
Of course secession is an option. It’s not the radical “fringe” that is now calling for State Legislatures to “nullify” federal laws … virtually everyone at my workplace applaud these attempts to roll back the power of the federal government.
But this will take time – and it won’t be easy. We in the South are addicted to federal funding too – and that’s the first thing the King will take from us as soon as we start getting “uppity” and disobeying his laws.
Once he takes the money – you better believe there’s no other reason for us to stay.
The good news is – he’s running out of money … and what little he has he’s spending in an irresponsible manner. So at some point he’s not even going to have the cash to buy our loyalty anymore.
The Dimmocrits have now changed the paradigm – with help from State Media. It is NOW considered “fringe” to insist that we live within our means. It is now considered “fringe” to attempt to curtail spending in ANY way. Obama has said repeatedly he won’t negotiate – he wants a clean CR and a clean increase in the debt limit – anything else he says – is irresponsible.
So fuck … how do you stop a runaway spending train when any guy who stands up to question it is labeled a “fringe” legislative terrorist?
Rep. Peter King – a Republican is now openly warning of a threat that the Libertarians are about to take over the GOP. Good … and I’m seeing some indication of that here in Louisiana. A lot of conservatives are starting to “rearrange” their priorities and drop the social issues to contest the real threat – a government that is out of control. And these guys blame establishment Repubelicans for it as much as they do Dims.
This CR issue … it’s flushing the turds to the top of the bowl so we can see who they are – both GOP and Dim. I don’t see Mary Landrieu survives this. I don’t see establishment Southern Republicans like Thad Cochran hanging on much longer either and every time Trent Lott opens his mouth down here people want to punch him now. That’s a league of difference from when i was growing up in the 70’s when Lott was a hero to everyone down here.
Liberals think they can take the government – and force a major entitlement program down our throats on a party-line vote. Well – that’s not going to happen without one helluva lot of backlash and this CR fight is just the tip of the iceberg. You will be fighting us a very long time – longer than you’ll be on this Earth I’ll promise – you’ll die before you get us to capitulate.
The thing that has leftists choking on their own bile right now? That this is coming from the White House of their lord and savior, and not Chimpy W Halliburton.
Which is not to say that I don’t see signs of an “Obama derangement syndrome” to match the BDS of years past. Whackos will be whackos.
That’s another thing. I certainly don’t hold with those who speak about Obama as if he’s the second coming of Jesus. He’s a man, for crying out loud.
But…but… he’s a Nobel Peace laureate!
Personally I think Obama is intentionally being a tyrant in order to get people to oppose him through “nullification” and other extraordinary measures. Hell, maybe he can even gen up enough hatred for a right wing terror organization to start up … that way he can declare a national emergency in 2016 and not hold elections.
There’s not a single Democrat that won’t back him if he does – that’s guaranteed.
Krulac, I didn’t see the “reply” option for your comment at 5:55 p.m., but I will say I think we’ve gotten to the common ground. I can’t defend the double standard regarding the rally, nor was I aware about how the memorial is funded.
And to Sasha at 7:50 p.m., why bother telling me? I know, and I don’t particularly care. He only received it for being someone other than George Bush and he’s done nothing to truly be deserving of such an honor.
I want that Wonder Woman film to be real. 🙁
I won’t link to Nyan Cat this time.
The Wonder Woman symbol gives me hope that someday we will come out the other side of the current dark ages where sex is illegal and/or shameful.
