They destroyed my life…and now they want to keep quiet.  –  Daegun Chun

Traffic Jam (#694)

The first exoneration of a victim of “sex trafficking” hysteria has come, 14 years earlier than I expected.  Of course, it happened in Canada, where the hysteria was never as virulent as in the US, and like the Heather Wyker “Somali sex trafficking gang” case, it was based entirely in cop wanking fantasies without a shred of actual evidence or a single credible witness, and collapsed because the primary victim refused to be intimidated into signing a fake confession and “admitting guilt” to the mob at gunpoint.  But the victims of the Satanic Panic were convicted on even more fantastical (and often physically-impossible) charges, with even more absurd “evidence”, and it was more than ten years after the end of the hysteria before any of them were exonerated.  I don’t know if this bodes well for most victims of “trafficking” hysteria, given that the US government is still actively engaged in promoting the lies and fantasies that were used to cage them.  This is a long and intense article, but I think it’s worth every free-thinking person’s time and effort to thoroughly grasp the lengths to which modern “democratic” governments will go to destroy innocent people’s lives in order to advance a propaganda narrative those in power find convenient to their agenda.

I Spy (#787)

Surveillance beyond the wildest dreams of the Stasi:

…the [newly-enacted]…RISAA…’s primary purpose is to extend Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act…But the bill also… “vastly expands the U.S. government’s warrantless surveillance capabilities”…that provision means  that nearly any…entity with access to telecom or internet equipment could be forced to participate in the federal government’s digital spying regime.  The big target…is likely to be the owners and operators of data centers…but…”any company, vendor, or any of their employees who touch the physical infrastructure of the internet could now be…compelled to assist with FISA surveillance“…even someone like a custodian could be legally compelled to assist in the federal government’s spying efforts…gathering places like hotels and coffee shops have been specifically excluded from the law.  But…because…places where journalists work are not specifically exempted…”American newsrooms [could be]e bugged by the government.  And journalists won’t [honestly] be able to reassure [sources] that they’re not, because, for all they know, the building maintenance worker is an involuntary government spy”…

I Spy (#1376)

This is not Grady Judd’s domain in Florida, but it has the same love of using sleazy means to violate people’s civil rights using the typical excuses:

A…[surveilla]nce system that can identify aliases and collect years of personal data from hundreds of online sources is now being used by the Polk County [Iowa] Sheriff’s Department…ShadowDragon surveillance software is [one of many justified to the public by barfing out the words “]human trafficking[“, but in reality has mostly been used so far to spy on protests, pregnant women, gamers, black people and kinky people]…The…software can…map out online identities and associations or correlations among people using…social media, chat rooms and dating platforms…Operation Underground Railroad — a [disgraced Utah]-based [“rescue industry” corpor]ation — donated $4,000 to pay for Polk’s first-year of software expenses…

Cops and Robbers (#1379)

“Journalists” lionize a sexual predator who gets his jollies destroying lives:

…Olive Hugh…use[s fake] Facebook accounts…to [fantasy role-play as] girls between the ages of 12 to 16…[so he can entrap young men with trickery in order to get them charged as “]child predators[” by p]rosecutor[s who don’t care that they’re getting people convicted entirely on the evidence of online conversations]…Hugh finds a sense of [sexual satisfaction] with each successful [entrapment, especially since he has an audience in cops who]…monitor…the chats between [Hugh] and [his victims, not to mention his]…social media accounts have over 50 thousand followers…

You Were Warned (#1420)

Politicians no longer care about whether their new diktats are Constitutional:

…the House of Representatives [has] passed a measure that would require a change in [TikTok]’s ownership or ban it if that doesn’t happen…it’s essentially the same divestiture-or-ban bill…now tucked into…the insanely named 21st Century Peace through Strength Act…that deals with everything from fentanyl trafficking to Russian sanctions, Iranian petroleum, Hamas, and boatloads of foreign aid.  The…Act would ban TikTok unless it completely breaks ties with its Chinese parent-company, ByteDance, within 270 days…and could be used to justify a ban on all sorts of popular apps tied to China, Russia, Iran, or any other country that gets deemed a foreign adversary…The most obvious constitutional problem is the First Amendment…It may also amount to a[n unconstitutional] bill of attainder.—a law punishing a specific person or entity, without a trial…and…the forced sale violates the Fifth Amendment…[because on paper] the government cannot take your property without accusing and convicting you of a crime

The Puritan Recrudescence (#1424)

Burble burble BLUE STATE burble drool:

…the California Assembly’s Privacy and Consumer Protection Committee voted last week to move forward a version of the age verification bills being sponsored around the country by [pro-censorship] activists…AB 3080 is backed by Exodus Cry…and [a host of other busybodies, bluenoses, pearl-clutchers, and other useful idiots]…

Torture Chamber (#1427)

Your “leaders” call this “correction”:

[Prisoners] in…Oklahoma…were locked in filthy shower stalls…for days on end.  In a lawsuit filed last week, the [prisoners seek reparations for such]…an obvious violation of their Eighth Amendment rights…[screws] at the Great Plains C[age Stack] locked [their victims]…in [the] stalls for extended periods, without access to basic amenities like adequate food and water.  Most were placed in 3-foot by 3-foot shower cells, though at least one was confined in an even smaller space.  Confinement periods listed in the suit ranged from 24 hours to four days…[some of] the…stalls [were] filled with human feces and [they were given no] bathroom…the only water they had access to was scalding hot shower water.  One prisoner…was repeatedly pepper sprayed during his [confinement] in the ad hoc [oubliette].  Another…was left without clothing, and had to borrow a shirt…[which] he later used to attempt suicide [in order to escape unending torture inflicted solely]…because guards knew that he was a sex offender…a…state…investigation…found that several different Oklahoma facilities regularly locked [prisoners] in shower stalls…

The privacy threats posed by facial recognition technology are, in many ways, unprecedented.  –  Michal Kosinski

To Molest and Rape

Cops are a menace to women of all ages:

A…Utah [cop named] Bronson Willas Wood [forcibly groped a young] woman “against her consent”…on March 18, 2023, b[ut] she [was afraid to report him before now.  She is a friend of]…Wood’s…daughter, both 19 years old, [and on that night she was visiting their house, when Wood allowed them to]…”drink alcohol and encouraged them to take shots.”  She [eventually went] to sleep on the couch in Wood’s basement, where he later went down and a[ccosted her, claiming]…that “he…had been in love with her” since she was 17 years old…[she called] a friend [to] pick…her up after [convincing] Wood [to] go…back upstairs.  W[hen] confronted the next morning b[y unnamed parties, Wood] initially denied everything…[but] later…conf[ess]ed [his actions that] night…to two [other unnamed] people.  Wood was arrested and [charged with]…forcible sexual abuse and…contributing to the delinquency of a minor…

Only an authoritarian could simultaneously classify someone as a “woman” and a “minor”.  And why is “against her consent” in scare quotes?

The Scarlet Letter (#798)

Professional promiscuity is already criminalized; this clown wants to criminalize amateur promiscuity as well:

Oklahoma [politician]s are seeking to criminalize the spread of several more sexually transmitted diseases, a move…[which] could turn nearly every resident into a felon.  House Bill 3098 adds chlamydia, Hepatitis B, genital herpes, trichomoniasis, and…HPV…infections to the list of…STDs…that are illegal to knowingly or recklessly spread…Previously only smallpox, syphilis and gonorrhea were on the list…Toni Hasenbeck…the bill’s…author, [foamed at the mouth while spouting paranoid nonsense about] domestic abuse…The [law would] deter people from getting the necessary testing and treatment…because of [valid] fears that positive tests could open someone up to prosecution…and…no test exists to diagnose [HPV] in men…

Opting Out (#803)

Never forget that “filter” is merely a euphemism for “censor”:

A middle school student in Missouri had trouble collecting images of people’s eyes for an art project.  An elementary schooler…couldn’t access a picture of…Florence Griffith Joyner to add to a writing assignment.  A high school junior couldn’t read analyses of…The Odyssey for her language arts class.  An eighth grader was blocked repeatedly while researching trans rights…All of these students saw the same message in their web browsers as they tried to complete their work: “The site you have requested has been blocked because it does not comply with the filtering requirements as described by the Children’s Internet Protection Act”…CIPA, a federal law passed in 2000, requires schools seeking subsidized internet access to keep students from seeing…images [politicians, bureaucrats, or their fascist “partner” corporations declare “]obscene or harmful[“.  Many] school districts…go much further, limiting not only what images students can see but what words they can read…forcing students to jump through hoops to complete assignments and keeping them from resources that could support their health and safety…including suicide prevention…

Pyrrhic Victory (#977)

Phrenology for tech worshipers:

Scientists have demonstrated that facial recognition technology can predict a person’s political orientation with a surprising level of accuracy.  Their research, published in the journal American Psychologist, shows that even neutral facial expressions can hold clues to someone’s political beliefs.  This finding poses significant privacy concerns, especially since facial recognition can operate without an individual’s consent…

A Broker in Pillage (#1381)

This will never stop until there are criminal charges for cops who perpetrate the robberies:

The Kansas Legislature unanimously passed a bill overhauling the rules for when police can [legally steal citizens’] property under a practice known as civil asset forfeiture…the legislation would make offenses related to possession or personal use of drugs ineligible for civil asset forfeiture, require [cop shops] to notify county prosecutors of a request for forfeiture within 14 days, and limit when local police can [dodge the restrictions by letting] fed[pigs] “adopt” their forfeiture cases.  It would also require judges to consider whether a seizure is unconstitutionally excessive, put the burden of proof on prosecutors to show that the seizure was proportional to the offense, and allow some property owners to recoup legal costs when they successfully challenge a seizure…More than 30 states have reformed their asset forfeiture laws over the past decade…but Kansas was not among them.

The Cop Myth (#1423)

Cop violence is never limited to members of the public:

An Akron [cop] who is under scrutiny for shooting a teen earlier this month was [previously arrest]ed in two violent, drunken incidents with his girlfriend.  In December 2020, [pig] Ryan…Westlake threw h[is girlfriend] into a coffee table…[while they were together in] Florida…Westlake then pinned her arms to the ground under his legs and struck her [repeatedly, but] she declined to press charges.  A few weeks later at Westlake’s…apartment…[he] pushed her to the ground and [gave her a black] eye…[then] pointed a gun at her head and threatened to kill her and her father…the girlfriend again declined to…[press charges, but then-]Mayor Dan Horrigan…[fired him, saying he] wasn’t “fit” to be an Akron officer.  One day later…the Akron police union [got him] reinstated [by issuing unspecified threats] and [he was merely] suspended for 71 days…Westlake [had] numerous [other] disciplinary actions against him [as well, leaving naifs]…in the community questioning why Westlake was still on the job April 1 when he shot Tavion Koonce-Williams…

No Escape (ROTW #8)

Government uses a shell game to avoid making actual reforms:

The Federal Bureau of Prisons [has] announced…that it will close a…women’s prison in California…known as the “rape club”…after several years of [unserious] efforts to root out systemic misconduct and abuse…Eight Dublin employees, including a former warden, have since been convicted or pleaded guilty to [rape and] sexual…assault…[yet] the culture of abuse and whistleblower retaliation [predictably] continued…this is not the first time the BOP has [made the cosmetic change of] shuttering a scandal-ridden prison [rather than enacting meaningful reform.  In this case]…the women currently [locked in rape cages] at Dublin will be transferred to other [rape cages], and…no [rapist or enabler screws will] lose their jobs [but will instead merely be transferred to other cage stacks, to continue raping and enabling as before]…

It was like a fun game to them.  –  “Jeny”

The Prudish Giant (#1011)

Why does anyone still trust Facebook?

In 2016, Facebook launched a secret project designed to intercept and decrypt the network traffic between people using Snapchat’s app and its servers. The goal was to understand users’ behavior and help Facebook compete with Snapchat…and later Amazon and YouTube…Given these apps’ use of encryption, Facebook needed to develop special technology to get around it…Facebook’s engineers solution was to use Onavo, a VPN-like service that Facebook acquired in 2013…which when activated had the advantage of reading all of the device’s network traffic before it got encrypted and sent over the internet…

Censorship Ascendant

Safetyism has become the go-to excuse of censors pretending they aren’t:

The FBI spends “every day, all day long” interrogating people over their Facebook posts.  At least, that’s what agents told Stillwater, Oklahoma, resident Rolla Abdeljawad when they showed up at her house to [harass] her about her social media activity…[after] they [were] given “screenshots” of her posts by Facebook…Abdeljawad told…th[em] she didn’t want to talk and…later confirmed with local police that the [spooks] really were FBI agents…”we’re not here to arrest you or anything,” [said the spook pictured here]…”We do this every day, all day long. It’s just an effort to keep everybody safe and make sure nobody has any [bad thoughts].”  [Abdeljawad’s lawyer Hassan] Shibly says…it was the first time he had heard of Facebook…preemptively reporting [citizen]s to [State] enforce[rs]…

No Escape (#1333)

This will never stop while violent thugs have total power over the lives of women:

…719 civil lawsuits…were recently filed against the City of New York and the NYC Department of C[ramming Human Beings into Filthy Cages] under the Adult Survivors Act, a state law that opened a one-year window for sexual assault survivors to file claims outside of the statute of limitations…nearly 60% of the 1,256 lawsuits filed…during the…period describe assaults against people held on Rikers Island…the…abuse…span[ned] decades…from 1976 to…[the present and consists of attacks by screws ranging from] grop[ing]…to [violent anal,] oral…and…v[aginal] rape….[while] jail officials…[tacitly approved of] the ongoing attacks…The plaintiffs seek more than $14.7 billion in damages, which could pose a staggering financial burden for the city[‘s tax cattle]…

Panopticon (#1346)

Old-fashioned Stasi-type surveillance isn’t dead yet:

…a [uniparty-backed] bill…would strengthen the role of the Department of Homeland Security in school [surveilla]nce, [to] turn America’s schools into another adjunct of the national security apparatus, a veritable school for spies…The Secret Service’s National Threat Assessment Center, or NTAC, was created in 1998 to examine threats to the president and security at complex public gatherings.  Its focus was expanded a year later to the psychology of school shootings…Today, NTAC…brags that…it has [indoctrinat]ed hundreds of thousands of school administrators and teachers….thanks in part to NTAC p[ropaganda preten]ding…[that] “see something, say something”…is…[magically] differen[t from]…snitching…ratting…or…tattling…[because] students…[are] “potential terrorists”…

A Moral Cancer (#1369)

Crypto-moralists want people to believe they could live forever by simply eliminating every single pleasurable activity from their lives:

Women who drink more than one glass of wine a day are 45 per cent more likely to develop heart disease…[crypto-moral]ists studied the drinking habits of 430,000 adults in California, who had an average age of 44, and none of whom were teetotal.  Their habits were followed for four years, and during which 3,108 developed heart disease…The more people drank, the more likely they were to be diagnosed with heart disease, particularly in women…

Torture Chamber (#1389)

Your “leaders” call this “correction”:

Brooklyn’s troubled federal jail has been serving maggot-infested beans to [prisoners]…defense lawyers….[have also] detailed…partially cooked [chicken]…spoiled, rotting meat…milk [well past]…the expiration date…and…cockroaches and bug parts [in] the food…in January…Manhattan Federal Court Judge Jesse Furman issued a 19-page ruling laying out a litany of problems, including how the jail lost power for eight days in 2019 during a polar vortex.  “It has gotten to the point that it is routine for judges…to give reduced sentences to defendants based on the conditions of confinement in the MDC,” Furman wrote. “Prosecutors no longer even put up a fight, let alone dispute that the state of affairs is unacceptable”…His ruling, that the jail’s dreadful conditions constituted “extraordinary reasons” to not lock up a 70-year-old convicted drug dealer as he awaited sentencing, has since been cited by several defense lawyers seeking leniency or release for their clients…

To Molest and Rape (#1425)

Another example of the cop/religion molestation nexus:

A…Jacksonville [Florida cop]…was arrested…[for seducing a] 17-year-old [girl]…Josue’ Garriga III….[met the girl] at church…he told her to download WhatsApp so they could communicate [surreptitiously]…he…sen[t her dick pics]…and ask[ed] her for [nude] photos….the[n he later molested her]…in his [pigmobile]…it is believed there could be other victims.  Garriga…[murder]ed 22-year-old Jamee Johnson during a [pretextual] traffic stop…in [2019 and]…the city settled the [resulting lawsuit] for $200,000…

No one should fear a knock at the door from police simply because of what the YouTube algorithm serves up.  –  Albert Fox-Cahn

Not So Different

Politicians can’t resist using popular web services to expand surveillance:

bill recently introduced in Colorado  aims to make dating apps such as Hinge and Bumble [worse] for users [under the pretext of “safety”].  The first section…would force all dating services with any users in Colorado to submit an annual report to Colorado’s attorney general about misconduct reports from users in the state or about users in the state…[or] the entire United States.  These reports would all become public…Scorned lovers, racists, incels, and others with hostile motives could file false reports and harm people’s job and dating prospects in the future.  And a report on a government website looks a lot more legitimate than someone mad on social media.  These reports might even lead to [cops harass]ing innocent users…

Permanent Record (#1275)

Teachers are supposed to be robots who have no lives outside of school:

Domonique Brown was a history teacher…in the Detroit area, but in her off hours…worked as an aspiring rapper named Drippin Honey…she was [fired] from her job…[because one single] parent complained that she was a “bad influence” on her students because she’s a rapper, despite being voted teacher of the month in December…the parent [was allowed to] remain…anonymous [after the drive-by character assassination,] and didn’t [even bother to] go into detail about what they found objectionable about her rapping…Brown said she plans to take legal action against the school…

Stalkers in Blue (#1313)

Even seemingly-consensual sex with a cop may actually be something else:

A [typical and representative FBI] agent…has been arrested for…secretly filming women [he had] sex [with] at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with [cops] estimating there could be more than 80 victims.  Mark Allen Wells…stored the pornographic images and videos on his computer in neatly organized files.  Morgan Ballou, who dated Wells off and on between 2016 and 2022 said that he had shown her the library of nudes, at which point she contacted one of the women whose name showed up, his now ex-fiancé Savanna Smith…The pair went to the police [last] May…and…over the following months, more victims were identified.  His ex-wife came forward [to report] that he had secretly recorded her via a hidden camera on the bookshelf in one of their bedrooms.  It was also revealed that Wells…sent sexually explicit images of them to at least eight people…

Schadenfreude (#1376)

“Nonprofit” merely refers to the organization; those who run it often make plenty of profit:

…Candace Lierd is the founder and former CEO of a [Utah-based “rescue industry organization named]…Exitus…[who embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars] donated to the organization…she made false claims that she was a nurse or physician, [that she] had a position with the United Nations[,] and [that she had] founded several multimillion-dollar companies…Lierd has a stack of 42 charges filed against her…[most of which are] fraud[-related]…felonies…Exitus…did not renew its business license after it expired in 2022, but continued to seek donations on Facebook and Instagram….[with fantasies about fictional] orphan rescues in Europe…Exitus raised over $1,697,000 through [lies and fabric]ations…the[n used the] money…to buy a…new home[, a car for her son, and other things, but]…much of the money is still unaccounted for.

Micromanagement (#1381)

A “Tornado of Bad Ideas”:

In keeping with law enforcement’s grand tradition of taking antiquated, invasive, and oppressive technologies, making them digital, and then calling it innovation, police in the U.S. recently combined two existing dystopian technologies in a brand new way to violate civil liberties. A police force in California recently employed the new practice of taking a DNA sample from a crime scene, running this through a service provided by US company Parabon NanoLabs that guesses what the perpetrators face looked like, and plugging this rendered image into face recognition software to build a suspect list…scientists have affirmed that predicting face shapes—particularly from DNA samples—is not possible.  But this has not stopped…police [from] using DNA to create a hypothetical and not at all accurate face, then using that face as a clue on which to base investigations…Not only is this full dice-roll policing, it also threatens the rights, freedom, or even the life of whoever is unlucky enough to look a little bit like that artificial face

I Spy (#1385)

Curiosity offends the state, comrade:

Federal [spooks] have ordered Google to provide information on all viewers of select YouTube videos…the orders are unconstitutional because they threaten to turn innocent YouTube viewers into criminal suspects…Kentucky…cops sought to identify the individual behind the online moniker “elonmuskwhm”, who they suspect of selling bitcoin for cash, potentially [ope]ning [him up to persecution under] money laundering laws…In conversations with the user in early January [2023, spooks] sent links of YouTube tutorials for mapping via drones and augmented reality software, then [demand]ed Google [dox everyone] who…viewed the videos [that week by exposing]…the names, addresses, telephone numbers and user activity for all Google account users who accessed the…videos…and…the IP addresses of non-Google account owners who viewed the[m]…court records do not show whether or not Google [licked the boot that time]…

To Molest and Rape (ROTW #8)

Once a cop, always a cop:

[A retired] Utah [cop]…Sheriff’s Office administrator…[and] mental health counselor…[named] Mitchell McKee [has been] arrested…[for molesting] a teen[age boy].  The teen…told police he was abused by an adult man in exchange for vape pens…he is [considered dangerous because he is] a retired [cop who]…knows where…[his] victim lives…

No Escape

Sure, give sexually-aggressive adult men total power over teenage girls; what could possibly go wrong?

A [screw] at a [Washington] juvenile [jail raped] a 15-year-old [prisoner] inside a [pigmobile]…Antwon Jones…[h]as [been] charged [with]…rape and fir[ed].  Jones was tasked with transporting the girl on Jan. 26 [for vaguely-described reasons, and quite predictably coerced]…her during transport [into submitting to rape].  The girl said she [was afraid to refuse him]…So…he…stopped the vehicle in a parking lot…[near] the [cage stack]…and…got into the back seat with…her…[but] after the [rape], Jones realized he had [idiotic]ally locked himself in the back of the vehicle with the girl, s[o he was trapped]…until [he was caught, though he tried to excuse himself with a dumbass tale about]…lock[ing] himself [in] while adjusting her handcuffs…

No Escape (#1340)

The people who actually need “correction” are the ones who enable this horror:

FBI agents…raided a federal women’s prison in California so plagued by sexual abuse it was known among [prisoner]s and [screw]s as the “rape club”.  The action coincided with the ouster of…Warden Art Dulgov — just a few months into his tenure — and three other top…[screws, due to their]…retaliation against a…[prisoner] who testified in January in a lawsuit…against the prison…The developments are just the latest twist in a years-long [parade of atrocities] surrounding the facility.  Since an FBI investigation was launched…in 2021, eight FCI Dublin [screw]s have been charged with sexually abusing inmates.  Five of them have pleaded guilty…and two have been convicted by juries…[the feds have now] appointed [a woman as] interim warden of Dublin…the fourth person to hold the office since [rapist warden Ray] Garcia was removed…[in a transparent attempt to convince the painfully-naive that everything will be better now]…the number of women who have come forward [as victims of rape, other] sexual abuse[,] and retaliation [at the prison]…has reached 63…

To Molest and Rape (#1366)

I doubt this will make much difference until cops’ power is severely curtailed:

A [typical and representative] Oklahoma [cop] convicted [on a federal civil rights charge resulting from the violent rape] of a woman during a traffic stop will become the first to face a heftier penalty under the 2022 reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act…Jeffrey Scott Smith Jr…is facing up to 40 years in prison after a jury found him guilty this week of [violently raping the woman and deactivating his body camera and dashboard camera to cover it up]…

If Men Were Angels (ROTW #3)

In addition to being a “pastor”, he’s also a wannabe cop.  Quelle surprise:

South Florida pastor…Monte Lavelle Chitty…was arrested…[for] rap[ing a 15-year-old girl who]…told deputies that “Chitty gave her alcohol that she thinks might have been ‘spiked’ with something else”…When she woke up, she found Chitty [rap]ing her…Chitty “was a registered volunteer with the Sheriff’s Office” [in addition to being] a pastor…

To Molest and Rape (ROTW #7)

Stories about child-molesting cops are often larded with obfuscatory language:

[A typical and representative] South Carolina [cop named]…David Lonny Geronimo Templet…[has been] charged with…[multiple] sex…[crimes against multiple children]…In July 2019…[he molested] an 11-year-old…[and] between July 2019 and September 2020, [he repeat]edly masturbated in the presence of two [other] children…

They’re also often really vague about the victims’ ages:

A…Missouri…[cop named] Johnathon…Taylor…was arrested…[for] the [repeated] sexual assault of [two] minor girls…beginning in 2017 [and continuing until at least 2022]…

To Molest and Rape (ROTW #7)

Give sexually-aggressive thugs power over teens; what could possibly go wrong?

An [Oklahoma cop assigned to spy on, harass, and intimidate students]…was arrested after [predictably raping a student]…James Matthew Waltman p[lied the girl with] alcohol to [facilitate the rape, and the article is heavily padded with clowns feigning surprise at this 100% predictable outcome]…

Even if they’re only part-time lurkers, that’s as much opportunity as they need:

[An Indiana cop named] Rico E. Butler[, who  was assigned to spy on, harass, and intimidate students part-time,] was charged on March 2 with…child seduction…for sexual abuse of…a…17-year-old…[since] September…Butler…has been [rewarded with a] paid [vacation]…

Parents have the right to exercise their religious beliefs…but…not…in a manner that causes…harm to [their] child.  –  Indiana Court of Appeals

Monsters (#591)

If you have to ask the State to compel your 16-year-old to submit to your control, you have already lost them regardless of what a court rules:

The Supreme Court declined to [intervene in the case of] an Indiana couple who believe [young adults are “]children[” who] should be [tortured for not conforming to] their sex at birth [and therefore] lost custody of their [16-year-old] transgender [daughter]…The state said the parents, who are self-described devout Christians, lost custody not because of their views but because…the[ir unceasing abuse]…of…the teen…[was causing a] severe eating disorder…Indiana also argued that the custody dispute is [moot] because the teen, who was 16 when removed from the home, is now an adult…Mary and Jeremy Cox re[peatedly portrayed themselves as champions of “]parental rights[” despite the fact]…that the State…remove[d]…the teen…[because] the parents…verbally and emotionally abus[ed her]…and [would not relent despite] individual and family therapy…[and court orders] not to discuss transgenderism with their [daughter] outside of the therapy sessions…The Indiana Court of Appeals sided with the state, and the Indiana Supreme Court declined to review the case…

To Molest and Rape (#1088)

The Washington Post has “discovered” something I’ve been writing about for over a decade:

Americans have been forced to reckon with sexual misconduct committed by teachers, clergy, coaches and others with access to and authority over children [and adolescents].  But there is [widespread denial] of…sex crimes perpetrated by members of another profession that many children are taught to revere and obey: law enforcement…At least 1,800 state and local police officers were charged with crimes involving child sexual abuse from 2005 through 2022…[and] were rarely related to the children [or adolescents] they…rap[ed], fondl[ed,] and exploit[ed].  They most frequently targeted girls…13 to 15 years old — and regularly met their victims through their jobs…In case after case, [rapist cops] intentionally earned the trust of parents and guardians, created opportunities to get kids alone and threatened repercussions for broken silence…and…when abuse is suspected, [rapist cops] are [either] allowed to remain on the job [or rewarded with paid vacations] while investigations of their behavior are left in the hands of their c[ronies]…

The Cop Myth (#1297)

How long will America ignore the costs of its sick worship of state-sanctioned violence?

For decades, we’ve been [s]old [the lie that cops] just need training and resources to do their jobs correctly…cultural sensitivity training, implicit bias training, de-escalation training, and so on, cost billions every year…But [the evidence clearly demonstrates]…that no amount of training or resources will stop police from killing…or…ensure that police treat people with dignity and respect.  Worse still, the “training” that cops already receive often glorifies violence, reinforces racist ideas, and is taught by [cops] with histories of misconduct…at least 46 states have paid a…company…which does business under the name “Street Cop”—to fill [cop]s’ heads with hateful rhetoric and bad legal advice…trainers urge…[their fellow pigs] to make unconstitutional traffic stops and indiscriminately shoot at those who defy their authority…[and feed] trainees a steady diet of racism and misogyny…[one] advised [pigs] to treat criminal suspects like “live tissue labs” to “practice on”…When Street Cop’s instructors weren’t too busy talking about their penis sizes or mimicking masturbation (yes, really), they were promoting a…checklist…riddled with legal inaccuracies about what is needed to justify a traffic stop or search…

The Vultures Descend (#1381)

Prohibition can never succeed, regardless of which substance is prohibited:

The Oklahoma House of Representatives [has] passed a bill Thursday that bans the…possession of non-prescribed abortion inducing medications…since all of the surgical abortion clinics in the state have [been] closed…there has been an increase in unattended at-home [chem]ically induced abortions…and [politicians are butthurt that]…someone can simply buy the pill, take it, and terminate their pregnancy for any reason [without having to beg The Almighty State for permission]…

The Puritan Recrudescence (#1391)

Indiana’s float in the “monkey see, monkey do” parade took a few months to get rolling:

Indiana…governor…Eric Holcomb…has signed into law the state’s version of the age verification bills being sponsored around the country by [pro-censorship] activists…SB 17…goes far beyond [other such laws by]…stipulat[ing] that any website [which fails to guess what some politician or wannabe censor will point at and barf]… “material harmful to minors”…can [be subjected to a nuisance lawsuit by either opportunistic citizens or opportunistic politicians]…

The Puritan Recrudescence (#1400)

The currently-fashionable “monkey see, monkey do” parade has escaped the US:

…a private member’s bill introduced by Senator Julie Miville-Dechêne…aims to…requir[e] people to use a third-party service to verify their age to access adult content online in Canada…Proponents of the bill [speciously argue] that…the…[internet is a bar]…but we’re not talking about controlling access to a physical space or object.  It’s access to ideas, to data…and to intercept specific ideas, you need to control access to all ideas…

That’s just about everything worthwhile about this piece; the writer’s naive and somewhat-silly opinions about politicians’ motivations and why surveillance and infantilization of adults are wrong (synopsis: TITTIES!) are good indicators of why this keeps happening and why there isn’t a vehement public outcry against these internet-censorship schemes.

The Cop Myth (#1422)

Sleeping with a cop is one of the most dangerous things a woman can do:

…Bellingham [Washington cop] Joshua Richard McKissick…was ordered Feb. 26 to surrender all firearms and other dangerous weapons and any concealed pistol licenses to the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.  An emergency domestic violence protection order was also issued the same day…[on behalf of] McKissick]’s girlfriend] and her two children…because…McKissick subjected her to a “significant amount” of [physical, sexual, and] emotional abuse in 2022[, often while drunk]…

License to Rape

Prohibition turns the body of every citizen into a “crime scene”, which can be violated by cops at will:

Pennsylvania [cops] have reached a settlement with a woman who [was subjected to] an unnecessary and humiliating strip-search after she was pulled over for a minor traffic violation…by [lying rapist] Brian Rousseau…he [and another male cop threatened and coerced her into “]consent[ing”] to [a] search [of] her vehicle…but [they] found no sign of drugs, illegal weapons, or other [excuse they could use to molest her].  However, that wasn’t enough for the[m to get their jollies, so they called] a female [cop to molest her.  But when]…Elish [told the female cop] that she didn’t know [why they were targeting her]…the female [cop refused to actually root around in her vagina and anus, disappointing]…Rousseau…[who then decided to ticket] Elish…for driving five miles per hour over the speed limit.  That…was dropped…when Rousseau failed to appear at the hearing…

If Men Were Angels

A [Catholic] priest [named Fernando Gonzalez Ortega]…has been arrested [in Brownsville, Texas] for multiple sex-trafficking charges and…continuous sexual abuse of a child…

To Molest and Rape (#1280)

Chicago originally hid this costumed rapist’s picture:

A [typical and representative] Chicago [cop skated with a mere]…year in federal prison…for the [rape]…of a transgender woman in..his [pigmobile after threatening her with arrest]…James Sajdak…[raped the sex worker] on March 5, 2019.  He had originally faced up to life behind bars…but under [a cushy, cops-only] plea agreement with prosecutors, the sentence was capped at 12 months…Sajdak…[wept crocofile tears and made excuses in a transparent bid for sympathy]…Sajdak…[us]ed his [pigmobile] sirens [and magic clown costume to intimidate]…the victim…into [submitting to rape]…biting [her in the process] and [then throwing a few bucks at her so if he got caught he could claim it was a business transaction rather than a rape]…Sajdak had been recommended for firing more than 20 years ago [for theatening a parolee with] bogus drug charges…[then] in…2013…he and [his gang] se[xually assaulted]…a woman [under the pretext of a “]search[“]…

No Escape

This guy must be well-connected for the Big Pigs to pay attention to his girlfriend’s report:

A [typical and representative Texas screw named]…James Gray…[has been] arrest[ed]…for…[sexually] assaulting…[a prisoner who was not identified, though her boyfriend’s name is] Randall Vradenburg…He said she called him on [February 23rd] to tell him what happened…and…[the] hands[y screw was arrested and apparently sacked within days]…

To Molest and Rape (#1418)

Cops should not be allowed anywhere near legal minors:

[Typical and representative Oklahoma cop] Brandon LeDoux…face[s] felony charges…[for molesting a teenage girl,] attempt[ing] to [undress her, and]…showing [her porn]…on his smartphone [in what appears to be a clumsy attempt to seduce her]…

And it’s rare that they’re caught after only one victim:

A [typical and representative Missouri cop has been charged with]…additional sex crimes [after two more victims came forward]…Justin Durham…[was first] indicted…in September on charges of rape, sodomy, child pornography possession and sexual trafficking of a child…[then] a federal grand jury…indicted [him] in October on federal…child pornography [charges]…

To Molest and Rape (#1419)

Give sexually-aggressive thugs power over teens; what could possibly go wrong?

A [typical and representative] Yakima [Washington cop assigned to spy on, harass, and intimidate students] is now facing charges for a sexual relationship with a teen girl and for raping her drunk friend…Elias Huizar…got a protection order against the then 13-year-old girl after she allegedly told others they had a sexual relationship…and [contacted] his wife…[who]…divorce[d him later that year]…Huizar…re[-established contact with the girl in] 2022 when she was 15…she soon became pregnant, and their baby was born [last] April…She [then] started living with him and [is now] 17…on Feb. 2…[she was] drinking…[with a] younger girl [who got so drunk she] felt sick…Both were…asleep when Huizar’s girlfriend woke to find Huizar [rap]ing her friend…

UPDATE: It rapidly got much, much worse.

When will people get tired of sacrificing their daughters to the cop cult?

A [Pennsylvania cop assigned to spy on, harass, and intimidate students] was arrested on [February 13th] for [repeat]edly [moles]ting a student.  Jordan Jones..[wa]s charged…[after the girl] disclosed to a counselor that…Jones [had groomed and molested her]…

It’s rare they’re caught before they successfully molest any students, but the nauseating excuse-making in this story is not rare:

[Omar Connor, a cop paid to spy on, harass, and intimidate students] in Groton, Massachusetts, has been fired…[because] he harassed students and staff, including asking one student if she wanted to come to his house to have sex…[but dopey reporters seem to consider his cop shop’s claims about his “popularity” more credible than the statements of] students and [staff he harassed because one] parent…[claimed she] “Never…hear[d] anything bad about him, ever”…

Over and over and over again…the system itself harms children and families.  –  Wendy Bach

Monsters

Nex Benedict, a gender-nonconforming 16-year-old in Owasso, Oklahoma, died on February 8th after what school officials are calling “a fight” in the girls’ bathroom involving three older girls.  Of course, they always call it a “fight” even when three kids beat one kid’s head against a tile floor hard enough to send them to the hospital.  News coverage of Nex’s death is all over the place, though much of it quotes the absurd claim that the death was pure koinkydink, unrelated to the beating; or claims Nex started it; or uses their birth name.  The only things that are certain is that Oklahoma politicians have stoked a climate of fear and hate against kids like Nex, who was forced to use the bathroom corresponding to their biological sex despite the obvious danger, and is now dead as a result.  I’ll publish a follow-up when there seems to be some consensus about facts instead of conflicting masses of self-serving political bullshit, butt-covering by school officials, and speculation by outsiders.  But for now the important thing to keep in mind is that this idiotic culture war is not only an unforgiveable waste of time and resources, but has an actual body count.

Social Autoimmune Disorder (#594)

There’s never a shortage of useful idiots who think the leopards will never eat their faces:

San Francisco [idio]ts living along Capp Street in the Mission District spent much of last year pushing for [magic bill-elimination] barriers to…[“abate” the “]prostitution problem[“.  Of course, as sensible people predicted, the stroll merely moved] a few blocks down [to] the Shotwell Street area…[now useful idiots]…have drafted a petition, calling on the city to install 16 of its new license plate reader cameras in the neighborhood…Mayor London Breed..is also pushing for Proposition E to pass, which would allow the city to use facial recognition cameras for surveillance

To Molest and Rape

Just another typical and representative cop:

[The Washington DC cop shop is hiding the identity of a pig who raped a woman in his pigmobile] in [Montgomery County] Maryland…he has been [rewarded for the crime with a] paid [vacation]…the woman [was apparently lured into the car]…on Feb. 1…[under the pretext of a “date”]…

Property of the State (#1182)

Oklahoma is another state which seems to simply hate women:

Amanda Aguilar’s…baby tested positive for marijuana…[because] Aguilar had been taking the drug to treat severe morning sickness…Medical marijuana is legal in Oklahoma, and she had a doctor-approved state license to use it.  Her son was healthy at birth.  But the hospital r[at]ted her [out] to child welfare workers, who handed over her baby’s drug test results to police…In June, a judge in Kay County tossed out the charges against Aguilar…she [had not] broke[n] state law…But the [sociopathic] local prosecutor…filed an appeal to reinstate the charges, [moronically] arguing that…the fetus…did not have its own, separate license to use medical marijuana.  The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals is expected to hear the arguments later this year…potentially opening the door for more criminal cases…

Pyrrhic Victory (#1327)

There is absolutely no legitimate reason for a vending machine to have this capability:

A set of [computerized] vending machines at the University of Waterloo is expected to be removed from campus after…a student noticed an error message on one of the[m which]…appeared to indicate there was a problem with a facial recognition application…A picture of the error message was posted online and students quickly started sharing it..Since then, many have tried to cover a small hole on the machine that they believe houses a camera…the manufacturer…Invenda…[claims] the…machines can detect the presence of a person, their estimated age and gender…”without storing such data on permanent memory mediums [sic] or transmitting it over the Internet”…

This certainly casts a different light on another, similar story:

Amazon is in the process of replacing a breakroom coffee machine in its Maple Grove [Minnesota] warehouse after an employee inadvertently discovered a camera inside the machine that took pictures of the breakroom…[the] East African workers…who comprise a sizable [fraction] of Amazon’s Minnesota workforce…have a history of protesting the company’s wages and workplace conditions…a labor organization…said the situation is concerning because of previous incidents where the retail giant used tech to track workers’ productivity in excessive and illegal ways

Any information which exists can be misused by corporations or demanded by cops; the only way to stop that privacy invasion is not to collect the information in the first place.

The Cop Myth (#1395)

Sleeping with a cop is one of the most dangerous things a woman can do:

A Vallejo [California cop] was arrested…on Valentine’s Day after his ex-girlfriend reported to Oakland police that he’d threatened and harassed her for months…Ronald Dupree…[had previously been] reported…to Vallejo police [but they did nothing except tell Dupree she had reported him]…Dupree started texting or calling her dozens of times per day, often from a blocked number…he al[so]…threatened her, adding that he knew how to dispose of a body, and that he would file a missing person’s report to locate her if she ever tried to hide…

To Molest and Rape (ROTW #6)

Your “leaders” say this trash is fit to “correct” others:

A [typical and representative Pennsylvania screw]…sexually abused a [14-year-old] teenage girl…John Mollica…[seduced] the girl, [telling her] “I’m obsessed with you and I’m willing to kill for you”…[and giving] her cash…and [gifts]…when [cops] questioned Mollica…he…denied having a “relationship” with the teen and further stated that he thought she was only 11 years old…

Unless the courts stop them, [federal prosecutors] are incapable of stopping themselves.  –   Michael Piccarreta

To Molest and Rape

If only there were a concise term for “having sex without consent”:

A [typical and representative Texas cop named Hector Aaron Ruiz has] pleaded guilty…to kidnapping a…woman he pulled over in 2019 and…[raped after forc]ing her [under color of law to] follow him…to a [remote area]…eight months a[go]…Ruiz [was found] guilty of obstructing, destroying and altering records…[when he] raped [a different woman] in her home…[even though the] jury [let him skate on the actual crime]…

To Molest and Rape (#1007)

Rapist cops are rarely caught after only one victim:

Brian Helfert, a…[typical and representative cop paid to spy on, untimidate, and harass high school students in Michigan, regularly moles]ted teen boys between 2003 and 2019.  In December, he was convicted of [a lesser charge, and has previously been slapped on the wrist for molesting boys]…He…[now] faces two more c[harges]…for…sexually assault[ing yet another 13-year-old boy]…

Panopticon (#1321)

A small and soon-to-be-circumvented obstacle to Amazon’s fascist collaboration with cops:

Amazon’s Ring has announced that it will no longer facilitate police’s warrantless requests for footage from Ring users.  This…will…not stop police from trying to [intimidate] Ring…owners [into handing over recordings] without a warrant….[Several] years ago, after public outcry and a lot of criticism from EFF and other organizations, Ring ended its practice of allowing police to automatically send requests for footage to a user’s email inbox, opting instead for a system where police had to publicly post requests onto Ring’s Neighbors app.  Now, Ring hopefully will altogether be out of the business of platforming casual and warrantless police requests for footage…This is a step in the right direction, but has come after years of cozy relationships with police and irresponsible handling of data…We also remain deeply skeptical about law enforcement’s and Ring’s ability to determine what is, or is not, an emergency…and…the mass existence of doorbell cameras, whether subsidized and organized into registries by cities or connected and centralized through technologies like Fusus, will continue to threaten civil liberties…

Undead Powers

I’ve long held that all laws should sunset after 10 years unless specific action is taken to renew them:

The most significant national threat to reproductive rights is…a…long dormant law from 1873 that could ban abortion nationwide: the Comstock Act…named after Anthony Comstock, a…[deeply-deranged, self-loathing pervert] who used his power as a special agent of the US Postal Service to enforce his beliefs about sex…He was able to persuade Congress to pass laws against “indecent or immoral” materials, including broad definitions of contraception, pornography and abortion.  Some [forced-birth] advocates are interpreting this law, which remained on the books during the half century that Roe v. Wade was in force, to ban mailing anything that induces an abortion.  Because virtually everything used for an abortion — from abortion pills, to the instruments for abortion procedures, to clinic supplies — gets mailed to providers in some form, this interpretation…could mean a nationwide ban on all abortions, even in states where it remains legal.  The Comstock Act must be repealed, and in our view, that process needs to begin this year…

Pyrrhic Victory (#1364)

Cops really don’t care how many false positives these systems shit out, nor how dire the consequences to their victims:

A 61-year-old man is suing Macy’s and the parent company of Sunglass Hut over the stores’…use of a facial recognition system that misidentified him as the culprit behind an armed robbery and led to his wrongful arrest.  While in jail, he was beaten and raped, according to his suit.  Harvey Eugene Murphy Jr was accused…of robbing a Houston-area Sunglass Hut of thousands of dollars of merchandise in January 2022, though…he was living in California at the time…He was arrested on 20 October 2023…when…he [tried]…to renew his [Texas driver’s] license.  Within minutes of identifying himself to a DMV clerk…he was arrested and…brutally beaten and gang-raped by three other men in the jail…

Dangerous Speech (#1391)

Remember that old legal protection we used to have against double jeopardy?

On Tues., Jan. 23, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Phoenix informed federal Judge Diane Humetewa of its intention to retry veteran journalist Michael Lacey on 84 counts, for which a  [hung] jury did not return verdicts during a 2023 trial.  Th[is]…means the Backpage case, which began in April 2018 with the FBI’s destruction of the website and the arrests of six people…will drag on into its seventh year and likely longer…

The Puritan Recrudescence (#1391)

Censorious politicians aren’t just copying each other; they’re vying to see who can make their new laws the most unconstitutional:

An anti-porn bill in Oklahoma is so extreme that it [w]ould even make sexting outside of a marriage a crime.  The…bill would make merely viewing “obscene materials” a felony…It’s part of a wave of conservative plans targeting a very broad definition of “porn”—First Amendment be damned—that threatens not just “hardcore pornography” but all sorts of erotic expression…[b]y attempt[ing] to drastically expand what is considered illegal obscenity or pornography…Oklahoma Senate Bill 1976—comes from state Sen. Dusty Deevers…who also put forth legislation to repeal no-fault divorce…the…bill attempts to carve out a new category of largely prohibited content called “unlawful pornography”…which…is broad enough to include all partnered or solo porn photos and videos (even the more tame stuff), and possibly even erotic drawings, strip clubs, burlesque, drag, depictions of domination, and more…and…would be partially enforced by private lawsuits

I find paywalls distasteful, and so many people find this blog valuable as a resource I just can’t bring myself to install one.  Furthermore, I find ad delivery services (whose content I have no say over) even more distasteful.  But as I’m now semi-retired from sex work, I can’t self-sponsor this blog by myself any longer.  So if you value my writing enough that you would pay to see it if it were paywalled, please consider subscribing; there are four different levels to fit all budgets.  Or if that doesn’t work for you, please consider showing your generosity with a one-time donation; you can Paypal to maggiemcneill@earthlink.net or else email me at the same address to make other arrangements.  Thanks so much!

If Men Were Angels

This will continue until fools stop teaching children unquestioning obedience to “authority”:

A [typical and representative Alaska] church leader [named Dwight “Chris” John] was sentenced to 20 years in prison with 30 more suspended [for repeatedly molesting a now-teenage girl, starting when she was] nine…

To Molest and Rape

Rapist cops often specifically target vulnerable women:

Deangelo Reyes, [a typical and representative] Tulsa [cop]…charged with [vaginal and oral] rape [of  a disabled woman, is apparently on the run.  He] was scheduled to appear in court [last] Tuesday, but failed to show up…[Reyes was previously] charge[d for raping a different woman]…court for [that crime is scheduled for] March…the new victim…suffer[s] from major neuro cognitive disorder…[due] to severe traumatic brain injury…from a car accident…she [is now]…functioning at a 5th to 6th grade level…

No Escape (#1008)

Your “leaders” refer to this as “correction”:

A…woman [locked in a cage by the state of Oregon has filed]…a federal lawsuit [because] she faces an ongoing barrage of abuse and retaliation after a [screw]…repeatedly sexually assaulted her [with the prison’s tacit permission]…Levi Gray…was charged in August …[but claims she wanted it] and…[was rewarded with a paid vacation until at least] May…A 229-page state report released in August found the prison has a retaliatory culture that discourages the reporting [of] sexual abuse and other wrongdoing…Gray [repeatedly raped] the woman for…a two-month period in April and May while she was in…solitary confinement…with no camera…[besides the rapes] Gray repeatedly…[threw] her against a wall and grop[ed] her while she was handcuffed, [and] chok[ed] her while kissing her and hitting her…[he also put her on a] leash attached to her handcuffs and…oral[ly raped her].  The abuse lasted 40 minutes or longer, sometimes two or more times each day…

Surplus Women (#1196)

37 years after the rape/murder and 81/2 after he was caught:

A Spokane County judge found a [typical and representative] Pasco [Washington cop named Richard Aguirre] guilty…[for the] first-degree murder [of a sex worker named] Ruby Doss…in 1986.  For decades, investigators could not find a suspect in her death.  That was until 2015, when a forensic scientist matched DNA on a condom found near Doss’ body to…Aguirre…[whose] DNA…[had been] collect[ed after he]…rape[d another woman]…Aguirre [escaped consequences for that rape and for Doss’ death until now due to botched prosecutions, mistrials, and jurors afraid to convict a cop]…

To Molest and Rape (#1400)

Cop and preacher is like a huge, wildly-waving red flag:

[Boston-area cop] James Feeley has been arrested and charged with raping a child…[he] pleaded not guilty…[even though he had already] confessed to Winthrop [Massachusetts] Police Chief Terrance Delahanty…on…Christmas Day…Feeley…is also a church leader in Winthrop…
