This is like something out of a science fiction film, anal probing by government officials and public employees. – Shannon Kennedy
Since there’s almost no such thing as a Thanksgiving video that isn’t stupid, you probably shouldn’t expect to see any seasonal videos for a few weeks yet (because I do NOT start Yuletide early). Today we have two of interest, the first a short one from Libertarianism.org and the second a parody of colonialist ethnographic videos from Austrian TV, provided by Laura Agustín. Everything before the first video is from Mike Riggs, and the links between the videos were contributed by Radley Balko, Glenn Greenwald, Kevin Wilson, Mike Siegel, Cop Block, Grace, Nun Ya, my cat, Lenore Skenazy, Dan Savage, Jesse Walker, and Gideon (in that order); Walker also supplied “far-right homophobe”.

Well, I’m fucked … I can’t walk into a restaurant without everyone in the place turning to gawk at me, or some busboy slapping me on the back and yelling “WWE! WWE!”
This is almost identical to this other ludicrous assertion about avoiding rape.

It’s interesting that someone believes you should use the same tactics to avoid both the police – and a rapist.
The cops – AND the cooperative doctors in the Deming case need to be crucified. No – I’m talking the REAL crucifixion – nailed to a cross in the desert and left for the buzzards. One of the biggest reasons I support the death penalty is, if used regularly and correctly, we could purify the gene pool so much and do the planet a favor by ridding it of IDIOTS like these. These people are so fuckin’ stupid they should never be allowed to breed. Oh wait – cancel the crucifixion – let’s just subject THEM to a humiliating medical procedure that THEY don’t want to undergo.
Let’s say … “Castration”? Solves the breeding issue and provides retribution in one quick blow … er … slice.
Probable cause? At each step, police took the ABSENCE OF ANY EVIDENCE as “Probable Cause” to escalate to the next higher step in this man’s torture.
Seriously – any alien creature looking down on this case would say … “And these people have nuclear weapons TOO?”
“Paedophiles” ??? LOL – I never get over British spelling! I’m like … “What the fuck is a “Pay-Dough-File”??
Well – certainly one that knew that the effort was suicide and that the child was already likely dead …
Doubtful the Dad could have done a damn thing when trained professionals in full protective gear couldn’t. I understand this guy’s actions as a father – and admire them. But I don’t think the cops necessarily did the wrong thing here in preventing further loss of life to this tragedy.
Are our tax dollars still going to fund the Southern Poverty Law Center? What a self-licking ice cream cone. They put the Klan out of business over 30 years ago and haven’t a “mission” since – except to bug the shit out of the rest of us.
O/T but not too much … speaking of people who shouldn’t be allowed to have control of nuclear weapons … Obama is a fuck-up of the first degree …

Just read the article. I’m not going to defend Obama in any way. I didn’t vote for him in the last election and when he endorses Hilary Clinton in 2016 I won’t be voting for her either.
However, I would say to Mr. McCarthy and the Republicans, come back to me when you actually decide to put your money where your mouths are and come up with an actual plan to remove Obama (and Biden, and Holder, etc.) from office, as opposed to self-defeating declarations that Obama will never be impeached or prosecuted.
So what if he’s the President? If he and his administration are so all-fired corrupt and evil, why shouldn’t they fear prosecution, removal from office, and incarceration? Proof that will stand up in a court of law shouldn’t be hard to find with the resources and money at the right’s disposal. The law is apparently on their side. They’d be able to convince those on the fence, which will then give them the strength of numbers against the dwindling number of people who think Obama can do no wrong.
+1 on everything you said here!
Agree about prosecuting Obama. But it’s futile to consider impeachment without a 2/3 Senate majority, given that most Democratic senators will simply vote their politics and not even consider that honor and truth ought to determine the outcome. That’s exactly what they did when Clinton was impeached, after all.
Precisely. Unless Republicans are willing to do the hard work to figure out a way around that, whether that’s by actually winning elections or some other method, I believe they need to back off that sort of rhetoric. Such posturing without anything backing it up only serves to turn off independents who want to see results (they might not like Obama, but they don’t want a nonfunctional government either), and allows Obama to play the victim card among his supporters.
I’m one independent who loves “nonfunctional government.” There are a few (less than 10) really necessary laws, and none of them is new or federal. As far as I’m concerned they can sit gridlocked for the next 20 years, and send all the bureaucrats home too. I’d never miss ’em.
Some parts of your comments sound alarmingly like eugenics. This isn’t a subject that it’s easy to discuss today; and the concepts behind it are simply wrong. It’s as much spontaneous mutation that gives us monsters as well as geniuses; eradicating the ‘bad’ genes does not guarantee that the best will survive.
It’s all a joke Korhomme … i often joke about improving the gene pool – it’s one of my “schticks”.
Let us not conflate too many concepts. Eugenics as promoted in the early 20th century was evil for two reasons: (1) the racism behind it, and (2) the fact that people would be told they couldn’t breed (or sometimes sterilized) against their will.
Those practices need to remain off limits. But I see nothing wrong with tech that might allow us to improve our children in ways we would do to ourselves if we could (as in Heinlein’s Beyond This Horizon); and I also see nothing wrong with making it at least socially expensive, and maybe illegal, to have children if you have no means to support them.
I could see socially expensive, but making it illegal to have kids without the means of support sounds like a lawhead idea akin to China’s “one child” policy. How would you enforce it? What would you do with children born outside of such a law?
I would have a court find the mother unfit and put Junior in foster care.
I’ve not been to the Tyrol, but I am very familiar with Switzerland, just to the west, where they have very similar anamilistic rites and cultures, and invasions from the north. Though nearly 20 years old, this is one of the cleverest parodies I’ve seen for a while; sometimes it’s only through parody and satire that we can see ourselves for what we are.
